Its finally done! Few hours on saturday and sunday and the suspension is on!

rears in place (handy hint, remove the rear ARB dogbone makes everything a doddle)

fronts in (those 18mm bolts are flipping tough)

New Meyle HD droplinks

condition of the old stuff (all BMW so might be original bits)

also swapped out a broken foglight

looks like its been under the sea!

whilst i was under the car i noticed that i had a small opil leak coming from here, does anyone know whats leaking? Vanos unit?

Progressing nicely

I almost burst something removing those on Duncans Z3 last week. Eventually had to supply it with considerably more force, or as I like to call it - Lee

haha i found that having my breaker bar on it and then standing on that did the trick for the first few and then could do it by hand. unbelivable little bolts.

but when you see the amount of loctite they have on them from BMW!!!!!

Car is going to the garage tonight to have the broken wishbone bolt removed and hopefully a MOT on friday meaning it will be back on the road!!!!! cant wait.

In the meantime the tinkering continues.

I wanted to fit the rear suspension strengthening plates as they were fitted to later zeds. However, i didnt want to pay the £26 from BMW for two tiny bits of glavanised metal.

In steps Bimmertune on eBay and two days later from Lithuania comes some plates. £10 delivered!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z3-re...lates-E30-E36-E46-Z4-BIMMERTUNE-/121814536141

3 minutes to install.

Really enjoying following your mods as its happening , it gives me the urge to keep doing bits on mine and learn about issues I did not know about. Thanks John

One of the joys of owning a car for me is maintaining it to a high standard and slowly improving it.

So took it down to the garage to have the snapped bolt out, 3 hours later at £140 lighter its finished and MOT'd for another year. Its takena while to get it back on the road due to wanting to do the work myself, however, its back and the weather this weekend was amazing!

took it out for its first proper drive on the new suspension, wow, its like night and day to the old worn out rubbish. Not too harsh and not stupid low so no worries around town.

gave it a clean too!

pickles gave me a hand

Enjoyed reading this thread, great looking car, I'm looking for a set of alloys just like yours, mines are 19" and the ride is a bit harsh.
