I wasn't sure. Dan put them on his the mot. I'm incorporating the clear z4 side indicators into my side grill.

My mot guy said that you need to be able to see them when standing a metre from the rear bumper so t-tony would be right as you would be able to see them flashing.

I'm still going to go down the z4 indicator route as it will also incorporate the badge on the side grill as well.
Yeah, jury's still out on the side grill - kind of hoping argy will come up with something after the door handles - I really like the Z8 ones but they're so expensive

Yeah I looked at the z8 ones early on but with shipping and customs would have been about £800/£900 a pair 😒

I fitted my wing mirrors, then took them off again as I had to build the height up on the wings as there was a flat spot where the mould was joined. Took about 15mm of filler.
I have that flat spot too. But only on the driver's side.

Z8 grilles are too long.
they would touch the door gap and front wheel arch! I measured a set and sadly they don’t work

But something of a similar style made in stainless steel shouldn't be too bad for someone with experience in working it.

Spent the afternoon trying to route two wires from the boot to the compartment, got them through with the other cables behind the passenger seat but working out how to take them forward without dismantling half the car has stumped me today, try again next week 😢

What wires are you looking to route

I had been hearing about deadlock problems and not having a key for the door locks, so was thinking that if I put a switch in the boot for the drivers window I can lower the window and then open the door from the inside. Of course now that I'm waiting for Argys handles then it may not be an issue.

A common approach is to put a switch in the boot that connects to a couple of pins under the dash..that opens the locking mechanism. Can't recall where they connect but could look up the details.

This assumes you can open the boot.
z3 had the manual key lock to open the boot, your new handle probably doesn’t afford this option.
hence why I can manually open my boot from under the car

So placement of the switch gives that option. Have you done this mod personally Dan ,?

From that, it sounds like opening the window is a good idea as it gets you into the car. However it seems a real pain to get the wires through
My windows won't move with the ignition off. Are you planning on running power into the door onto the window motor?

Dave I have no external boot key lock, but can crawl underneath to release the boot lock manually.
the deadlock issue probably happens very rarely and mostly due to external handles not being set up correctly.

I recall helping Ian C with door cards and twice we set off the deadlocks. We agreed that I was his unlucky charm. And to make sure the back up switch was a std fitment on any build that had door skins JIC
