Ok, so done something with the bumpers:
Your bumpers and grills look so much better than mine.

I had them chrome sprayed and they seem to be more gold coloured by the day.

I've just returned from having a new hood fitted in Swansea (Jack Smith Trimmers)...Raymond Pugh actually......he said he'd never seen a car with gold bumpers before 🤬🤬🤬

I have to say Piran, your front wings look pretty round on top. Maybe the mould was adjusted. Mine had such a flat spot that you could balance a pencil on it

May be just the light that hides it better on Piran's car. I got my body kit later than Piran and I have the mega flat spot too.

The grilles I did with jenolite chrome spray which was fine until I put the clearcoat on, it's also very soft. The bumpers I've done with alloy wheel paint and whilst it isn't mirror smooth the particles give it quite a good metallic sheen and it looks ok with the clearcoat, should be pretty durable too and that is with my lousy spraying.
Tbh haven't looked for a flat spot and it may not show up in the garage lighting - there's so many other irregularities that as long as it's smooth and not pitted...

Well progress:

I have all the rear lights on and working - the fog and reverse aren't excatly vertical and I'll have to measure the distance from the floor (hopefully it will just make the 250mm). The boot catch is now on ad working (including with the central locking), boot is tidied and loom wrapped.
Wheel liners are on so moving forward it's the fuel flap and finish sanding the back panels, but I'll probably go forward and start on the headlights.
Sorry for popping this old 'foglight' post back to the top. @Piran Your rear fog light. Did you have front fogs? You going to fit front fogs?

I'm planning on fitting them. I've extended the cables to the front of the clamshell. I like the style that sit within the front grills on the ferrari kits. Nothing decided yet though. For the mot, I just put tape over the switch.

Didn't have front fogs, haven't found them useful on cars that did have them so wasn't going to bother with them.

I rarely drive mine at night but apparently the p700 lights are pretty useless for a night drive. I may end up using the cabling for additional spot lights.

I also like that "lights in the grill" look. One of the reasons I rounded the outer corners of my grill. Pair of spots a la Z8 I think.

I never used the fogs but kinda remember the front/rear fog switches were somehow interconnected where rear would only work with front - or the other way round.

Might put tiny fronts under the bumper then I won't need to worry about how the switches are arranged

I think it must be that the fronts will not work without rears. As rears are the only legal reqt.

I fitted rears on the Kobra and more modern than P700 headlights. It would be a very rare trip to drive mine at night and definitely not in fog.

So, expecting door handles any day now, got the MOT booked for next week so reconnected the battery and brought the car outside to work on today. :( So the ABS and traction control warning lights are on - they haven't been before and one of my sidelights that was working now isn't.
I've tried connecting to the OBD to get fault readings but I can't get it to connect to the ECU :(

My warning lights came on a while ago too. I think it was when the car was parked up a while. I drive it most days now that it's drivable and I haven't seen those lights for a while.

Let us know how you get on with the handles. Easy to work with? Once fitted can you get the skin off again easily if necessary?

BtW. How did you attach your door skin? Brackets at the bottom but bonded or riveted on the sides?

Sidelight will probably just be a lose connection. Mine was the same.

Finishing my door skins is still on my "to do" list. Currently hooked over the lip with brackets at the bottom for the ones with my classic mini handles.

I have got another pair of door skins that need filler and spraying as I'd got them for the new flat handles.

My plan was to run a thin bead of tiger seal down the sides of the doors and spray in situ.....when I decide which handle I prefer.

Yep, lights sorted it was a loose connection. I'm planning the same for fastening the door skins although I've had to make aluminium extensions on one side as the skin didn't hook over at the top.
Still trying to work out what to do about the warning lights - can't drive it without MOT to see if they go away, can't get an MOT with them on, can't connect to the ECU via the odb ...

You can drive it to an MOT appointment and directly back home pass or fail.

Or to a place where work on the car is to be carried out. Which, according to a recent thread, does (or does not) include your mate's drive and certainly doesn't include a trip round the lakes.
