Your English is slipping again Zedonist, it should read they're, probably. NOT there probably. Come on man, standards, STANDARDS!
And these are my memories, (I spoke to the friends we made on that holiday and they seem to remember it to
I always comfort a grammar nazi by hugging them and saying, "There, their, they're." :)

Going back to Rev's original post if I may. I was leaving Lincoln on my way home from work one evening at a crawl as is Carholme Rd. At peak times and as I went past a bus stop at walking pace 2 young ladies who were waiting at a bus stop both called out to me" Nice car mate" which made my day.
Only because they could see it was an automatic!

I would have offered them a lift, one on my lap and one on the seat!

You see, you missed the point totally there Bonzo. Automatic means one hand free all the time.!!:ymdevil:

A sense of humour is always a subjective thing.

My friends and I have a derogative one. The ruder we are to each other the more you know that you are accepted. This though would not come over at all well on the internet.

Difficult call.

Being nice to new guys has to be a primary objective though. They won't return unless they feel welcome.

:)

Absolutely have to agree Nick. As Mike said let the poor guy at least get his feet under the table before turning Bonzo loose on him.=))=))

Autos for old farts!
Or for lazy drivers, which,to be totally honest I can admit to being. Mainly for the evening crawl out of Lincoln every day. It still has sport mode if you want "enthusiastic driving" so says the owners handbook.
I had a Granada years ago and the young guy who worked for me used to call it point and press driving.:)

Back to the topic, I work at a university and many of the students compliment me on the Zed all the time. Some asked me if I am married, I say yes, then they ask, "why do you have a convertible? -they are used for getting the girls!' :) Then, the discussion usually starts to heat up.

Yes, good point t-t-Tony, but I don't change gear with my pork poker do I?;)
I think what Tony was saying was why give pleasure to just one when you can bring pleasure to both at the same time!! What a man, thinking only of others not just himself!! JIM
