I had to go and pick up my daughters friend today and I agreed to meet her mother to collect her at a Petrol station.

I was early and there was a hand car wash there. The Z4 was in dire need of a wash and although I normally wouldn't I decided to have it done.

When they were finished the guy turned to me and said.. "Is it new"... My chest puffed out as I explained to him it was eight years old and I keep it all buffed up myself. He said that he couldn't believe it as it was in such nice condition.

I have to say they did a really good job as well.

I left a small tip!

:)

Anyone else had a similar experience that brightened their day?

The funniest one was when I was replacing the radiator on Rosie and a courier delivered a parcel. First he asked what I was doing, and then suggested that surely it would be covered under warranty. He couldn't believe it when I told him the car was 12 years old, so doubt BMW would be that accommodating.

Always seem to end up spend time chatting with people about the car at the unlikeliest times.

And that's also because mostly the people who say that crap have never ridden let alone driven one. My boss at work took mine for a drive this time last year and when he came back said " I like it but I wouldn't have an automatic, fair enough not everyone's cup o' tea, So I took him out in it and showed how to drive an auto for fun and he realised the difference.;)

You ought to show us a picture of the modified nose Jim, it can't be worse than HT's. Trinity has GOOD taste too.

Cheers, Tony.

Have some time this week coming up, will try to get some pics up of the mod. But not promising, if the weather is okay I'm on the road again getting new tires and tracking down my upholstery friend to discuss the new top and new seat leather. Also have to sort out the HT as it doesn't want to go back on the car properly. JIM

Went to Blickling Hall near Aylsham yesterday. In the car park a chap asked for some change and I said I had some in my car. As I unlocked Zelda he said, "What a lovely car." The sun was shining too!
This is she!

No ta, 8" is wide enough for me,..... and I don't need any kind of therapy! Mind you, a nurse would be nice, or a policewoman or a lady parking warden, air hostess?.................
