Have you tried removing the rear spring pads. I believe it’s something like 1.6 ratio so taking out a 10mm pad gives 16mm drop.

How did it drive with that set up?
Didn't drive it as it looked so bad.

I was tempted to take the pads out but to keep a bit of nvh control

Just read through this entire thread. Great work and very inspirational, Sharp3y.

Another small update.

@spurs fan in a coupe kindly sold me some new boot carpets so I could remove my hump.

Small issue that I had to remove the HK amp as it doesn’t fit behind the carpet nicely. I’ll do some research to see what I can do as I now only have front speakers.

Anyone else done this with the HK setup?

Loads more boot space though so I’m overall very happy

Got myself a genuine bmw first aid kit for £5 to finish off the boot for now.

Next job is a big front end overhaul.

I’ve got brand new wishbones, steering rack ends, gaiters to go on

Along with 300mm front brakes from a e46

All that’s needed for the brakes is the carriers from the donor car which I picked up for £20

They are currently soaking in a bath of citric acid to remove the rust

Also ordered some front HEL braided hoses and will be buying some brand new (refurbed callipers)

Be interested to hear the outcome, I did the same but ended up with no speakers so had to reverse back.

Looks like the previous owner has bypassed the amp and wired the front speakers up to the Headunit. I'm tempted to do the same for the whole lot or see if I can come up with something

Can't seem to see a spot where the amp can relocate as the wires are so short

Mine was I'm the hump above the cd changer
Mine used to be there too.
I just wired the speakers separately as was changing them all anyway.
I have 2 amps now - a mono in the boot for the sun (amp in the hump) and an Alpine in-line amp for the speakers behind the glove box area that powers the 4 in car speakers.

Reverted back to the humped boot as cannot relocate the amp.

Also stripped the brake carriers using citric acid. It’s done a great job , taking off all but the most stubborn rust. It also softened up some old paint but didn’t remove it so that wasn’t removed manually.

They will be getting a coat of brake paint after this.

But not sure on which colour. Thinking silver

Hello @5harp3y

I am looking to rust proof the wings from the inside.backside while they are off, is Dynax S50 the best product? I have seen people using waxoil and other products like stone guard spray etc... thanks.
