Why would you do that when you have nothing else to put on in it's place or do you take the wheels off your cars in the garage for fun, just to put them back on again?

Board No not for fun but for practical reasons.
If I'm giving Zippy a deep clean, the wheels come off and there are other forum members that remove their wheels for the same purpose. Do we take it that most ///M wheels are filthy on close inspection or is it just yours.
I bought some new wheel centres - the wheels came off just to make the job easier.
