Lovin this...

Just looked in M3.........no jack.!

Z has a wheel brace though. reason for asking was a plastic clip and nut with nothing to hold lying in the kit area?

BS

I think the plastic mould in the boot is fairly standard across the range so has the space for a jack but never a jack supplied as standard :D

Still waiting for Hornel - has he gone to sleep now? :D

Maybe he's got a puncture x_x

I collected some of those bits too out of other BMs I've had over the years so it has more than when it came out of the factory. There is definitely a space for a jack in the moulding but it would have been either requested on the original sale or added later on

it will look something like at the bottom of this page http://www.roadstersolutions.com/page90.html

Also here specifies no jack http://www.epinions.com/review/auto_Mak ... 41444?sb=1

i remember in the old days there were nice chaps who drove round in 5 series estates. If you had a problem you pulled out the nice fancy BMW card, call the number and the chap in the 5 series would roll up and fix everything for you. This was in the days when you had a warranty and could keep extending it year after year, something i always did until they stopped doing it. The warranty was amazing and covered everything that wasn't a wear item so if something squeaked or just didn't look right it would be in to the dealer and sorted. Just now i have to pay for it on a "as needed basis" and I don't think the attention to detail is what it was in the dealerships now.

The warranty used to be about £650 a year i think but I thought it was well worth it.

No jack in any Z3m as standard.

And the reason they don't have a spare is not weight saving but no room to fit one with the quad exhausts ;-)

Not looking good for you Hornel ;) although you could say you are exclusive as you have one :D

I read somewhere that the 50:50 distro was an issue with the spare but the quad exhausts makes much more sense. Probably a dodgy reporter ;)

Yep, the quad exhausts are why the ///M has no spare and a different bootlid with raised up numberplate from the bumper ;-)

Snoops - If you're inclined to take the tyre off in your garage then i think BMW assumed you would have the jack already :D

If I'm inclined to take my wheel off at home I would look in my boot for the BMW jack provided with my car... but then one came with mine.

Why would you do that when you have nothing else to put on in it's place or do you take the wheels off your cars in the garage for fun, just to put them back on again? :D

Hornel - sorry, I was on Tapatalk and multiple embedded quotes are challenging when you're trying to only use part - :ymblushing:

Board No not for fun but for practical reasons.

If I'm giving Zippy a deep clean, the wheels come off and there are other forum members that remove their wheels for the same purpose. Do we take it that most ///M wheels are filthy on close inspection or is it just yours. :p
I bought some new wheel centres - the wheels came off just to make the job easier.

No Problem snoops. ;) Good point about the wheels off for cleaning. Just jacked mine up to clean behind the exhaust area an hour ago. *-:) .
I think the M`s purchased without a jack came from the skinflints who wanted to keep the price down when they ordered them from new. :)) . :phttp://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/Z3/Ro ... ting_jack/

These parts are stated they are for the Z3m, now if they were not needed or extras surely they would point this out. :ymsmug:
