I know how you feel, I got done 18 months ago by a mobile unit doing 58 mph in a 50 mph on a dual carriage way with the camera sited 150 yards in front of the 70 mph sign coming out of Bournemouth. The most productive camera apparently in the county. I was offered a speed awareness course instead of the fine and points - no brainer really. The only problem, although I live in Wiltshire you could only attend the course in Dorset. So if you came from anywhere further up north it may have cost you the fine in fuel getting to the venue!
The course was pretty good and I could not believe the amount of attendees, there were so many people on average 30 per classroom and they had 6 x classrooms on the go and they done this twice a day, now if that's not a cash cow I don't know what is.
But I suppose it did have the desired effect as my driving style and speed have certainly changed since.
