Yes I searched for quite a long time to get this specification in a 2.2 Sport, to me a sports car has to be red, (I would have settled for yellow), and I particularly wanted the Lotus White interior. It's a really great condition car, which I got for a very good price.
Ooh! And it's Lotus White. Now I'm really jealous!

I contacted the previous owner of my 2.2 to let him know I bought his car as salvage and was fixing it.

He had the handbook, service book, spare key and stereo pin he sent me!

He even told me exactly how he crashed the car.

I sent him pictures during the rebuild.

Can anyone tell me what the black plastic looking spare key is for? I only received the original key along with this black key with my car. It's simple and flat with no teeth cut into it. Is it some sort of emergency key or ? I haven't tried it as I don't know if it will affect my ignition system! JIM

A pic would help, but if it isn't cut then it doesn't sound at all useful...
I'll try to find it and post a pic! That's what I thought so put it somewhere for safe keeping until I found out if it was a useful tool! JIM

This is mine. I was told it was the valet key when I bought the car. I haven't got around to trying it yet though.
I am lucky, my Zed came with 4 keys including the valet one.

I've had a key made for z4 e85 at about £ 130. not a dealer, just googled on internet. They removed a immobiliser unit, coded new key in and put it back. Dealer was not of help, told me there is no more keys available.

When I find it I'll have to give it a shot! Must bypass the need for the chip and programming somehow. I wonder if they are car specific or work in anyone else's car? Not much to them for sure! JIM

Haven't bothered trying to use mine, may get round to it one day. Luckily my Z came with the full set of keys, even the valet one, again never used. If I ever get to the stage of using a valet service I may just give up driving.:)

I only have the one key and the plastic one which I guess is original. I should find it and try it in case I lose that one key so I'll at least know that I can start the car and get home, hopefully!! Now where the hell is that black key??? JIM

I just tried mine out of interest. It started the engine ok, but it wouldn't open the drivers door. There was movement in the lock, but not enough to open it. I didn't try to force it too much though.

Thanks @Phillip Baxter. Now I note in the pic that it is cut which I don't recall but it was three years ago so not surprised!! Must find that key now just to satisfy my own mind what's left of it. I also guess there must be a chip in the key also! Now the search is on!! JIM
