Right then I have consulted Russel Grant and Carol Kirkwood so according to my horoscope and the met office they have confirmed that Sunday 29th April 2018 is going to be beautiful and sunny all day. Armed with this indisputable fact from two totally reliable sources I have set this as the day for our mini cruise. I hope this suits everyone who has expressed an interest in coming for a drive with us. I could have chosen the following weekend which is a Bank Holiday but I thought that some of you may have already made plans for this long weekend.

Ok. We will start from the lorry park at Prees Heath roundabout roughly 2 miles south of Whitchurch on the A41. It has plenty of space for parking and there are cafes and a filling station adjacent for early birds who want a breakfast and a top up of petrol.

Well that's me sorted just booked a room at The Four Alls Inn Newport Road, Market Drayton, TF9 2AG
about 20mins from start point at Prees. Will be staying on Saturday night after a slow drive up from South Wales maybe lunching in Ludlow. Been meaning to make a visit to Cosford so hope it gets included as a stop in the cruise.

Good choice, I was at the Four Alls on Saturday at a school re-union where 2 folks from away stayed overnight before and after. The rooms are motel style in a separate single storey block behind the pub and the carvery on Saturday was very good. Not far out of town if you fancy eating away from the pub Saturday night.

Hello everybody, as you can see I have posted a start date and starting point for the run and it will definitely end at Cosford Aerospace Museum in the afternoon. I will amend the start time to 08.30 for the first group with 10 minute intervals between start times for each group so I suggest an arrival time of 08.00 to allow for a coffee and natter before leaving. All that I have to do now is finalise the route but I will try to make it as interesting as possible without taking us into the back of beyond and up the creek without a paddle. I will include the odd stop for photos and a mid session break for refreshments and there is also a cafe at The Museum so no- one should starve or die of fatigue. It will not be a rally or a test of anyone's driving ability.
I think that most of the day is now mapped out so it should be possible to firm up the attendees list from possibles to definites. I will edit the sub title in my first post to reflect this so please make yourself known if you are on the list but will not be able to attend.
