Will try and make the cruise, if you want to add us to the list provisionally, much appreciated.
Mr Zed, should be out of hibernation on 1st April and it would be good run out for him.

Karl and Dawn added as provisional as requested but here's hoping you can make it. We will not be doing a great mileage as a large part of the day is the Aero Museum (hence the mini in the title) but I will try to make it an interesting run before we get to Cosford. I have the 1st part planned but the midway rest point is yet to be confirmed and I have the 2nd part planned in my head but still need to try it in practice. The evening meal is booked in principal and will need firming up in due course. Please see the 1st post in this thread for details.

I am thinking about organising a days drive based around North Shropshire taking in Ironbridge, Wroxeter, Much Wenlock and Wenlock Edge and possibly ending up at Cosford Aero Museum in the early afternoon for coffee and a mooch around the displays. If you have not been to Cosford it is an eye-opener even if you are not in to planes the way they are exhibited is stunning. Entrance is free subject to a parking fee which is currently £3 for 3 hours. Cosford is just off the M54. If you think you might attend please post on here and i will set about planning a route.

Saturday Evening Meal
The Saturday evening meal and get together is provisionally booked at The Swan Inn, Wynbunbury between Crewe and Woore, Cheshire. They have a small function room that we can use. The pub has a website. Their menu is due to be changed very soon and when it does I will require firm numbers of those attending, a pre-order of starters, main courses and sweets and either a deposit or payment in full depending on what the pub requires. I have asked to be seated at 18.30 so that those that do not want to be out late can get away handy for an early night.

We are probably looking at splitting into two groups so I will need a volunteer to lead a second group and as it is early days and others might join possibly even a third and fourth group.
Booked into the hotel where meal is planned. Me and Andy Woolley for the meal then andy going you cosford in the morning in his jag.

Anyone staying over on the Saturday may be interested in this:
Saturday afternoon at RAF Cosford Martin Withers (Vulcan to the Falklands)
A rare opportunity now as Martin is reducing his speaking engagements.

We continue to add events to our schedule over the coming months, with the latest being a superb opportunity to not only visit this excellent RAF Museum at Cosford, but to enjoy two afternoon presentations from Martin Withers DFC, captain of Black Buck 1 during the Falklands Conflict of 1982, in the Cold War lecture theatre situated within the National Cold War Exhibition building. This is the only museum in the world where you can see all three V-Force aircraft of Vulcan, Victor and Valiant together.

This is your chance to hear him tell his story, and to meet him in person. A great opportunity!

Read about the celebrated BLACK BUCK story here:

Event takes place on Saturday 28th April 2018.

With FREE PARKING for our guests, arrivals will be from 11am, allowing you access to the museum site ahead of perhaps taking lunch at one of the two on-site cafés. By 1pm, we settle down for the first presentation from Martin on the Black Buck raids and his own recollections of the 1982 Falklands Conflict. After an interval, the second presentation covers Martin’s second career after retiring from the RAF, then of his time flying XH558 on the display circuit.

The afternoon closes with a question and answer session and then a book and commemorative signing opportunity on the stage. After ‘dispersal’, you will then have another hour to take in other parts of the museum before it closes at 5pm.

Tickets are priced at just £20 to include the interval refreshments.

IMPORTANT NOTICE for all attending the Saturday evening meal.

Sorry for shouting but I now need definite numbers and meal orders from everyone coming to the evening meal on the Saturday before the run.
The menu is now available on the website at The Swan Inn, Robinsons Brewery.
Please PM me with your choice of starter if required and main. Puddings can be ordered on the night if you still have room for one. The pub has indicated that they do not require a deposit which makes things very much easier for me but if you do need to cancel your order i would appreciate as much notice as possible to be fair to them.
I will start another thread in Future Events and update it with names and choices as your PM's arrive.
Looking forwards to what should be a good night in good company.
