Sorry for the late reply, I've been tiling 😳
Hi Ian, I'm doing them off the car.
Thanks guys for all the encouraging replies and great pics.
My car as you can see is Topaz so it'll be red for the calipers. I hope to start the work in a couple of weeks and I hope by then it will have warmed up as I have to work outside. I've got a small workshop for the caliper job but it's too small to take the car. I'm replacing the brake lines using a kit by classiccargeekuk on eBay. I've a couple of questions about the job but I'll open a new thread for that.

Powder coated mine bright orange on the Zed (topaz blue) & seriously considering doing them purple on my dark grey Ford Focus when the brakes are next done. Agree with other comments, painted any colour is better than rust!
I'd love to see a picture of the calipers on your Z3. Mine is topaz blue too, still unsure though what colour to choose.
I got the wheels powdercoated in champagne metallic lately, doesn't make the decision any easier...

As many say it’s down to personal choice, got mine blasted locally, then finished off with a specific high temperature paint for callipers, fitted new pistons and seals while they were stripped, various colours available on eBay.

I like coloured callipers, on the black Z4 Alan done them red 🌞
But Snow White already had white callipers, but they need doing again 🤔
Its your Z so paint them any colour you want 🌞

Did mine off the car, replaced hoses with braided colour coded ones at the same time.
Just to throw a spanner in the works did mine red and black
Photo does make them look a bit pink but they are definitely Ferrari red

That VHT looks good and after all high temp is what they do. Sadly. I'm now committed to K2 which should be OK. I'm really looking forward to starting the job. I'm just coming to the end of a period of DIY and plumbing so it'll be really good to start the car project.

Morning Chrisr1949,
you sound disappointed with K2, this is also a ‘high temperature paint‘ specifically for the heat variances in brake callipers, I can assure you that you’ll be well pleased with the end result

K2 looks good quality. I’m sure they’re both much of a muchness.
