Hi guys,
I'll be renewing the brakes on my Z when the weather improves. I'm not fitting anything special so it's standard single piston calipers will be reused. I fancy painting them red but have read too much opinion on the subject. Some say that to paint your standard single piston calipers looks naff and you need big dual piston types to show them off by painting them. What do you think?

Heat resistant caliper paint mate, amazon buy if I remember correctly. It's a very small tin but loads left after painting all 4.

Don't have to be red, but I think they just look smarter painted. Silver looks good depending on the colour of the car.

Colour dependent always look better than rust. I had blue on my Montreal blue Z3 and decals purchased off e bay for a couple of quid finished them off. Not the best picture but it gives you the idea. Certainly doesn't look out of place on the standard calipers.

Blue on my Topaz Blue Z3 which I did myself, Mettalic Blue on the Silver Z4 when I got it, had red on my red Ssangyong Korando. Trying to decide what colour to do my new Korando, it has black gloss wheels, the calipers are bright bare silver at the moment so thinking I will do them in gloss black maybe silver but not bothered about contrast that much, will paint the disc drum as well in the same colour as the calipers.

Painted with eBay red heat resistant paint. Took 3 costs to get a decent finish and it was much betteron the front which were refurbished calipers than on the back which I just hit with a flap wheel, wire brush and degreaser.
