Good write up pal, I have a 2.2 diff but its not LSD, I'm temted to fit it though just to feel the difference
If you need more inspiration just pop on down to Kent and pick it up for a blast anytime, you’ll just need to fuel itIt's always an interesting day when you drop in man, and thanks for the test blast it drives (and sounds) so very sorted. It really has come a huge way since we first saw it, and it's some of the smaller touches which really makes the car. The Sparco seats have fixed the horrendous seating position that ruins the drive. Can honestly say this is one of my favourite Z3s - although not so much to work on with all the crud underneath it
Give it go, won’t take you long now you know way hour around these.Good write up pal, I have a 2.2 diff but its not LSD, I'm temted to fit it though just to feel the difference
@Sean d what Tony said. (I knew that but just couldn’t articulate it )Yes it the number of teeth on the pinion gear, which drives the crown wheel (the large gear inside the Diff.) which determines the ratio. That is how many turns of the pinion to turn the the crown wheel one complete revolution.
Tony.
It won’t make a huge difference with road driving you guys do. Obviously keep hold of the 3.15 ratio diff. No harm in running the 3.38 diff to experience it.@Lee, do you think it's worth swapping out my 2.8 diff for the none lsd 2.2 diff that I have
Do you just drop the diff once the exhaust is out the way, does the angle allow the half shafts to come outIt won’t make a huge difference with road driving you guys do. Obviously keep hold of the 3.15 ratio diff. No harm in running the 3.38 diff to experience it.
P.S no shafts or prop needed. We did a straight swap.
I actually quite like the smell of itJust to add if you don’t already know, diff oil smells like cat p*ss. Actually more like lion p*ss.
Horrible, don’t get in on you shed floor, it stinks!
Trying to soak it up with cardboard and paper right now before I can re enter
