Quite a life hazard , this history Frankie!
That sure is a gorgeous car Dan, I bet you love it.The two stroke fascinates me since ever...the sound and the smell are addictive.
My first two stroke was a...car: IFA F8 1954, made in DDR. I bought the car in '83 and was able to drive it in '87.
I still have the car and last year , after a long sleep and a new face, I ran it again.
And because I started the other way around, now I'm heading to two strokes on two wheels!
In the last two years I've rebuilt two mopeds Simson SR2E, 1960 and 1964 (also DDR production).
The next step is a Jawa 250 (353 model, 1960) for which I have to take the bike driver licence!
It's on my bucket list, until I make 60! What can I say....?

After testing a few different softops I chose my current car and love it, unfortunately after seeing too many bikers not surviving needless accidents not of there doing had put me off for a while. A roadster at least gives me that sense exposed to the elements plus it's great fun to drive.///M is a compromise? I think that comment will upset a few on here!
We had them over here. IT WAS THE BIKE TO OWN.Mine was a 1949 Excelsior 197ccthat I had in 1961. After just a few weeks with it being very difficult to start I went to Pride & Clark in Stockwell and purchased a 1955 650cc Triumph T110 in two tone bonevile blue. In 1963 rebuilt engine to Bonevile spec. twin carbs, high lift cambs 8.1 or 9 high comp pistons. It was one of the fastes bikes about then.
Naturally, the first thing that hits you right in the face looking at this picture is the 'BMW' tag............I've still got a couple of bikes both 2stroke how could I choose between ///m and bike .may be a BMW bike!!!! Mostly my head is writing cheques my body can't cash!View attachment 26464
Nice Bum and the bike looks good as well.Naturally, the first thing that hits you right in the face looking at this picture is the 'BMW' tag............
For me the last decent triumphs were the very early 60s ones.I had a 1978 T140E Bonneville but to be honest it was the worst bike I ever owned. I had it at the same time that I had a BMW R80 so it wasn't really a fair comparison.
WHAT BMW TAG??Naturally, the first thing that hits you right in the face looking at this picture is the 'BMW' tag............
What a wonderful looking car it nust be just great to take her out on the road. The two stroke fascinates me since ever...the sound and the smell are addictive.
