Less of the fogies. I had a DT50M and educated myself that knoblies don't like damp corners much. I help my dad do up a Susuki 250 ram air thing smoked like a bigger that one did but got swapped for an uncool Yamaha RS125 which I sold and bought a Yamaha DT125LC in a sry state of need of some spiolt kid which I stripped and did up was a great bike that. After my test I moved onto my beloved Yamah RD350LC F2 and then considered the Yamaha Gennesis after loaning for a long weekend from the dealer but alas I sold up to go to college. Always wanted a go on a RD or RG 500 power band must have been insane on those. I did have a go on a Susuki Kettle if any of you remember those.

I was considering another bike but my ///M is my compromise

///M is a compromise? I think that comment will upset a few on here!

We had an arrow in Ely the owner had reworked, he put extracter exhausts on it, bloody hard to get away from, even on a Norton. Down side was getting the thing started, you had to be really fit to start a two stroke in those days. Not to mention the noise and the smoke!

My recollection of a kid from our village who had one was a White screaming bike towing a cloud of blue smoke.

I didn't get a two stroke, my first bike was the CBR600 FL bought in 1991

had a few since ranging from Ducati's to 1200 bandit before I lost my bottle after too many near misses.

Now I have a little 125cc scooter for nipping into town, 60mph and 125mpg.

I've never owned a 2 stroke motor bike, and as far as I can recall the only one I've ever ridden was a an old RD250 Yamaha, a few years before the "Elsie" RD250LC was born. I passed my test on a Suzuki GSX 250 in 1978 and traded that for a new Honda CX500.

I still have a bike at the moment that I'm converting into a café racer like the one below.

This isn't my bike but it's what I'm hoping mine will turn out like. My bike has the standard Bros twin 3 spoke wheels and is the torquey 650 Vee twin. I'm currently waiting delivery of the seat unit I've ordered off Ebay.

Good compromise.

Riding a bike has always been risky, more so nowadays because so many drivers are texting and looking at their phones whilst driving.

I only use my scoot for short trips into town, rarely above 30mph, and if I can't make eye contact with someone waiting at a junction I slow right down, saved myself a few times now.

Honda MTX80. Yammy RD125LC. Gamma 125. Then went onto bigger stuff finishing off with a 900 Fireblade. Packed up riding about 10 years ago now.

Here is a blast from the past. Who remembers the Honda Goldwing before they morphed into lorries =))

Here's me on my 1978 Honda Goldwing K2. This pic was taken in 1995 when we moved into our new home in Cornwall

I sold it to a guy from Leeds in 2006. He came and collected it in a horse box

Superb motor bike

That was my first bike (don't count the puch maxi that my Uncle lent me, the) then went on to the RD 250 LC better than the Super Wet Dream, then someone spoiled my fun by bringing in the 250cc law:(

Yeah, I was tough back then =))
Got rid of my Maxim 750 as I went down on it trying to hold a sub under my jacked as I pulled away from the parking lot of Vic's Subs. Fell over at 1mph. Couldn't get my leg out from under the bike with gas leaking from the tank. FINALLY got out and up but couldn't pick up the heavy bike, about 6 - 7 hundred pounds. Got it up with help and drove home with a nicked artery in the leg blood all over the place. Ended up with 11 stitches. Sold the bike.......... Frnakie
