Really useful so far, particularly with no temperature gauge in the car and the alternator issue it had. Usually have coolant temp, boost psi and battery voltage on the main screen but there’s another 70 odd values it will display.

Does it show oil pressure ? They are a clever bit of kit.

👍 I think I will invest in one. Was it good on the track day out the box so to speak.

I can’t fault it for the peace of mind it gives. Takes a bit of tweaking to configure the screen to show the values you want. You can set alarm values as well, so if temp goes above certain range for example. Also acts as a basic code reader.

It is a very good idea and a simple one really.

This is becoming a progress thread on it's own now! Mainly enjoying trouble free motoring but always improvements to be made...

First off, silicone hoses...

This has worked off about 4 times now, it's the cold air feed to the turbo, and this silicon pipe is a common change on the N14 engines. However because the inlet is smooth the silicone doesn't have anything to bite in to and works it's way off.

So, I've cleaned it all up and tried to rough the surface up on both the inlet and the inside of the silicone pipe - then double clamped it... You can see where the clamping force is mushrooming the end of the pipe already. Will see how it goes, but if anyone has any suggestions for this kind of situation let me know.

Roll bead at the end. You can do it with a tool usually available at tuning shops, or weld a bead three cm from the end. Had a Lancia in the past and all hoses popped out until I had the ends welded all around.

One consequence of the last trackday was the clutch pedal sticking to the floor on the last session. We managed to coax the pedal back up and it got me home. It’s been rough since and gradually juddering more and finally last week it started making ALL the noises.

Got stuck in to taking the gearbox off today with a fresh clutch kit and flywheel on standby. This completely explains why the clutch pedal stuck to the floor initially, and why it’s been getting worse since…

The release bearing exploded and the clutch fork took this as promotion and took over its job. It clearly isn’t competent in its new role and honestly just made a complete mess of it.

We also had a casualty, RIP the 21mm impact socket. The Milwaukee nugga claims another victim.

Not sure you got your moneys worth out of that clutch,
There is a bit of life left in it, but with my driving it’ll need to come out by the end of the year anyway 😂
