There's so much useful information on .net but ,org already has a great and fresh feel to it.

I have a feeling the .net site has had its day :(

I like this site but I do miss the .net home page with the recent forum topics scroll, I always went too that first too see what topics interested me the most.

Tim.

as long as the majority stay in one place, this one has so much potential. Agree we need the home page .

it's still there, but I had to do the following to access it. Not sure it is working for everyone though

Assuming you are using Windows... You are looking to edit a file called hosts - it's located in a different folder depending on which version of windows you have...

1> load Notepad
2> Click File, Open and then browse to either

C:\Windows\System32
or
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc

3> Set the "type of files" to all files so you can see the file called hosts and then open it.
4> add the following information to the end of the file

213.188.134.178 www.zroadster.net

Save the file, and try accessing the website in the usual manner

If it does not save, open up notebook by right clicking and pressing run as administrator and then saving after the same process.

The numbers on here seem to be going up quickly. The longer .net is down the more likely .org will become the default choice.

None at present
.org for me, too.

It seems to me that this site is being run on newer, more user friendly software and by people with a genuine current interest in it. All we need is the old knowledgebase to be transferred and a new logo to replace the pic of Gary's car.

Who knows, we may even be able to have some freely available Forum stickers and other merchandise that has been sadly lacking in the past!!!!

Gary and I are open to doing whatever you all want to do as really it's your forum. Without you there is no forum and surely you deserve what you would like/need from a forum/community like this? Keep the suggestions coming in and we'll work on them. I can't promise we will be able to do everything but we will do as much as possible as quickly as possible.

We really set this up as a stop gap as it's just a standard installation with a few changes to the settings but we've been taken quite by surprise by the response so will do as much as possible to make everything you want happen, within reason! :D

Cheers,
James

I believe this may now be the new site, as it is being run by people who care about the forum and it isnt just run by 1 person. If the owner of .net cared about .net then surely it would be up and running by now. Two weeks for a site to be down is unheard of. I hope of course Tim Cullins is ok, as that could be another reason for the .net site to be down.
But i think the longer it drags on the more likely this will become our new home. Also i am now higher up the members list \m/

I like what I read above, every day I come on here I'm amazed how Gary & James listen to members suggestions and where possible make changes straight away. :ymapplause:

They have lots of new ideas for the future of .org and as .net has down been down for almost 2 weeks my vote goes to .org. :-bd

In the past Tim has gone on motorcycle holidays to remote places and could only be contacted when he went to Internet Cafes.

.net was down for 7 weeks one time after it was hacked
