By the tone of his response,i fear the worst for the site, which would be a great shame,i think Tim is missing a great oppertunity to improve, move forward, bring it up to date and give it a more modern approach ,big big shame

I'm agreeing with TaffZee for the second time in as many days!!! Deleting whole threads. with some valid comments, isn't the way forward in my humble opinion and the question of how and where the donations previously made have been spent, still hasn't been answered. Perhaps he is waiting for .org to go 'belly up' and for all of us to return to .net.TaffZee said:Im happy here, bit dissapointed to see people on .net though (that are supporting this site) I still trawl through it but have loged out so my name doesnt appear, I suggest we support this site by signing out of .net before going on. Perhaps if Tim see,s poor visits to the site he may take us seriously and persuade him to do something, just my opinion and my approach to the recent posts made by Tim.. Not happy with any of his responses...
If your going to run a site, members of that site must come first, not pride...

Over the last couple of days, there doesn't seem to have been as many members logged in, so maybe there are more of us that feel the same way.
I sincerely hope that the new home for the Zed fraternity has a long and meaningful future. The efforts made by Gary and James to provide us with a new Forum when .net was down, should be applauded and the site already has beneficial new features and a much more modern feel.
My only concern is the lack of a knowledge base, which in the long run could send us back to .net. For that reason, I would urge all of you who have the knowledge, to take a few minutes and write some fixes on here. It is clear that we cannot plunder the information on .net without causing legal issues, but there's surely nothing to stop us using our experiences to help guide a new membership through some of the difficulties of Zed ownership.
Totaly Agree, 90% of the knowledge base has been taken from the Web anyway.NeRo said:This threat of losing the "Knowledge database" is total b*******s - .net is not the only Z site on the Interweb just use your search engine
Anyway given a bit of time we can create our own database on here - using the wiki format it will be more like an on-line searchable encyclopaedia and not lost in the forum banter
Re deleting posts on .net it's Tim's forum, so he can do what he likes to it :-s
Out of interest, did anyone get banned?
Exactly what I said in the Tims latest response. I simply asked if Tim's suggestions would be put towards the members prior to a decision and not just hidden for the admin team to read and then decide between themselves.TaffZee said:If your going to run a site, members of that site must come first, not pride...
Thanks for reminding me Jonttt. I've set the permissions so that only mods/admins can post in the 'knowledge' sections.Jonttt said:It's worth noting re a knowledge base section that's it's very hard to keep posts on topic and concise and it's even harder to stop people asking questions in it as new threads. That's why the one on .net had to be locked with only admin moving posts to that section if requested to do so.
There are possible advantages in not having a comprehensive knowledge database in that new owners asking questions will be able to engage with existing members as opposed to just being given a link to a dated sometimes rambling thread. My only concern is the lack of a knowledge base, which in the long run could send us back to .net. For that reason, I would urge all of you who have the knowledge, to take a few minutes and write some fixes on here.
