My Z4 ........................... My Way (Part 2).

I started using their stuff on my Mazda Eunos which had really nice high back leather seats with built in speakers in the headrests. This was before my Z3 14 years ago and I still like the smell. Looking forward to doing the rest tomorrow.

Got the rest of the interior done this afternoon.

Having the car in forwards gave me a better look at the bonnet gap and I had another play with the bolts.

This afternoon I got around to using a product which I bought last year.

First thing is to clean the headlights with this.

Then mask the lights so as not to overspray the paint or plastics.

Apply 2 coats, 5 mins between coats. Then the other side.

Out in the sun after it had dried I was quite impressed.

Let's see how long the look lasts.

Tony.

Today I ordered a set of alloy pedals (3). Throttle brake and footrest. They should be here by the time I get back.
Also looking into a set of M-Tec drilled and grooved brake discs. Fronts I can get for £88 but rears (which are almost identical size wise) are £136. WHY? Standard discs, no internal drum for shoes. I don't get it. Anyone and ideas where to get them? Also EBC Ultimax pads (much less dust).

Tony.

Been impressed with the Turtlewax headlight cleaner used it on the Z4 and the wife's Suzuki very simple to use without all the faff of the usual kits.

It is good Col, a coat of that Meguiars stuff keeps 'em looking good too.

Got mine direct from M-Tec

I could do that Paul, but when I asked why there was such a big difference in price someone called Ella just told me "There are many things that affect prices". When I put mine on the E85 the fronts and rears were not much different in price even though the rears were bigger and had more machining to make the parking brake drum. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah buddy, facelift, I was just trying to avoid making a template, the suck it and see approach. ;) No worries just thought I would ask...

A little job I've been meaning to do for the last 2 years, finally got round to it today. The alloy pedal kit arrived just after we went over to the villa.
I always start with the brake pedal. Making sure it's contour is the same as the brake pedal with the rubber pad removed. Align the new one with the steel pedal and clamp it in place.

Mark the 2 top holes using a 3mm drill bit, remove the alloy pedal and drill the 2 top holes. Loosely fit the alloy with the top bolts in place and clamp the 2 pedals again. I had to drill 2 new holes in the alloy as the lower ones were below the bottom edge of the steel.
20231013_122242.jpg

I used 2 of the bolts to fill the unused holes.
1 down, 2 to go.
20231013_133218.jpg

The footrest pedal is fastened with self tapping screws into the original plastic rest. 2 down 1 to go.
Last one is the throttle pedal. I always fix these using short self tappers as well.

But having got all 4 screws in place I remove them one at a time and apply a dab of superglue gel to the thread and replace.

Hoover up all the mess and that's it done.
20231013_135201.jpg

Pretty good I reckon.
