A little job I've been meaning to do for the last 2 years, finally got round to it today. The alloy pedal kit arrived just after we went over to the villa.
I always start with the brake pedal. Making sure it's contour is the same as the brake pedal with the rubber pad removed. Align the new one with the steel pedal and clamp it in place.
Mark the 2 top holes using a 3mm drill bit, remove the alloy pedal and drill the 2 top holes. Loosely fit the alloy with the top bolts in place and clamp the 2 pedals again. I had to drill 2 new holes in the alloy as the lower ones were below the bottom edge of the steel.
I used 2 of the bolts to fill the unused holes.
1 down, 2 to go.
The footrest pedal is fastened with self tapping screws into the original plastic rest. 2 down 1 to go.
Last one is the throttle pedal. I always fix these using short self tappers as well.
But having got all 4 screws in place I remove them one at a time and apply a dab of superglue gel to the thread and replace.
Hoover up all the mess and that's it done.
Pretty good I reckon.
Looking forward to road testing them now.
Tony.
