It may be worth drilling a small indentation into the gear lever where it has been "marked" by the grub screws, giving a point of purchase for the screws?

Yes I’ve kept it in the same place recently and probably tightened it up 5/6 times now without rotating it. The screws still keep coming loose though. I have a lot of indentions in the shaft now from this and the previous knob. I might cut the shaft slightly so the know sits lower and the screws are on a fresh part of the shaft. Or drill some holes in and use some longer grub screws as Tony suggested. My thinking is that if you keep moving it you are creating the same prblem everytime you move it, my plan is to keep tightening in the same place and eventually the grub screws will bed in as they are pointed
Mine are pointed. I saw some knurled ones earlier and wondered if the would work and if so how?Are the grub screws pointed at the end or do they have a "knurled" end?
Tony.
You could remove the pointy ones and file them flatThere’s big indentations now where the pointed grub screws sat as I did them up very tight but they keep working loose. Maybe I have damaged the grub screws. Will try some of the knurled type
