She’s so nearly done now. Just a major service left to do and get the alignment done, she’s also booked in next week to have the exhaust modified. Looking much better with the wheels repainted and some new centres. I went for sparkle silver to contrast against the darker paint.

Today was a crazy day, one of them days where cars fight back. The car is very much done, and we gave her a major service of all the fluids front to back, but she just wouldn't run right, idling was fine but if you tried to rev the car she would stutter and stall. Cutting a long story short with lots of brainstorming we removed the throttle body to find it seized solid. Strange how one minute its fine and the next its stuck, anyway we keep spares so she was all sorted in a few hours.

this was the offending faulty unit.

Never a dull moment in the shed.

A great spot to admire the work! A beer fridge is needed now to complete the ensemble!

Little update. Been out test driving the Zed, I got the tracking done earlier this week aswell. She drives really nice but I’m not happy with the way 5th gear feels, the gear should centre itself once disengaged but it just stays in place. I did notice the sleeve was a little tight when fitting. I’ll do an extended drive on the way back from the exhaust centre and see if it frees up otherwise the gearbox will be coming back out this weekend.

Sat outside the exhaust centre.

This is what we’re doing, removing the weak point where it’s blowing.

I guess straight piping this section might give a slight noise increase. Looking forward to hearing what it sounds like now.

Couple of photos in the dusk light. Exhaust work done but it’s going back for another adjustment, not quite where it should be. Very slight noise increase, sounds so nice.

That is one good looking car Lee. A great product from the Shed. Orinoco is a similar colour to my old Oxford Green Z3, in different lights you get different cars.

Saturday was the final day working on Mary. We changed the fuel filter and power steering lines. Amazed to see the fuel filter was original from factory.

then we removed the old power steering lines.
