Check invoices for parts replaced eg vanos
Body work condition,
Rust, check ends of sills..
Brake discs/pads condition,
Exhaust condition,
Roof condition,
Any oil leaks under car or in engine bay (take a torch)
Boot welds,
Check door locking and ALL electrics eg fan/heater/aircon/lights/seats
Engine noise, (bag of marbles from vanos or diesel sound no good)
Clutch bite point,
Stiffness of clutch,
Gear change,
In 4th start at 1750rpm then floor it, should feel surge around 2200rpm and again around 5000rpm
check oil temp gauge in Center console is working, should start to rise after 10mins of driving
Lastly enjoy the drive

Not forgetting the obvious things like all the electrics work as do all the lights.

The rear diffs can have oil on them but thats not unusual. Also there is a oil pressure release valve that can weep a little. Its not a big job to fix but does create room for negotiation ;-) (its under the manifold, in fact you need a stone cold engine to change it as its so close to the manifold at the bottom of the block).z3cade said:Check list..

Also I notice its got an open air filter, this can cause problems with the MAF (I'm sure you will point that out but usually they are fine ;-). a new MAF is a few hundred quid, get enough of these potential issues that are not that risky/bad laid down and he'll be giving you the car lol

i cant mate...but the advisory's is bad
it needs 4 new disks
all suspension rusty
brake pipes and hoses are corroded
4 new tyers
front bumper/door /rear bumper /rear wing respray
wheels need a refurb
and thats before iv even looked at it...
