It could well be mark. I'm just trying to say don't jump if the car has any big problems, oil leaks, vanos issues, clutch problems.. The M badge can be a bugger for masking issues.. ;)

Yep, people get too excited, and can miss things quite easily.

Wayne, take someone with you, they will see things you could miss.

I'll keep my eyes open for you Wayne and see what's about..

You would be more than welcome to view mine or Marks if you fancied a trip down here to get an idea of a good example..

Take a written list of things to check (even things like tyre tread and even wear, all the generic stuff and Z specific stuff) as on the day you will forgot things......also ask the owner not to warm up the car and take it out for at least 30 minutes on a mixed run. It should get up to temp after 10-15 min of town driving and then you can open it up, if it freightens you over 5,000 revs and you have to back off its doing something right ;-)

Even if you don't like the car on first impression still take time to take it out and check it over etc... it will help you know a good one quickly and so you've not totally wasted your time.

and finally enjoy it, I love looking for cars and am jealous you are :ymdaydream:

I think what you have to weigh up is most car owners buy a car ,use it, service it etc, but dont look after the bodywork like us fanatics, i remember Jonttt`s thread when he bought his imola, the engine bay was filthy, but it still was a great car and he put it as it should be, so think about that also.

Jonttt gave me that advice also and it helped, what you must realise its a 3.2 and wont sound like a sweet 1.9, but if it rattles go home ;)

Over 100HP per litre normally asperated, its a highly tuned thoroughbred but a little crude in the morning until wamed up is how I like to think of it ;-)

Wayne just a thought La-vida-diver [Duncan] comes from Bideford in Devon, I know Devon is a big county but you never know if he may live near this Z3M.
