Never heard my dad or anyone talking about oggies. He always took sandwiches which were eaten along with coal dust from their hands. Yuk.
I thought Oggies were cornish in origin - they had meat and potato in one end and the pudding in the other. They were baked hard so they could be thrown down the pit shaft without breaking.

Went to the infants school (5 years behind you). Love the Mill though the old tree that we used to jump off outside the Mill into the river was cut down a few years ago

My sister is 54, not sure what school she went to. Small world Mike.
