@Shelly depends upon who's baps you are referring too...

A local bakers would be much better than say a national pre packed bag of four.. Lol...

And yes.. Good choice.... Nothing like an Oggie ... Do you know you can get a savoury and sweet pasty still in parts of the south west ? A complete meal in one .. Lol..

.......... muffins! Proper traditional Lancashire oven bottom muffins, just like my Nana always used to give us for dinner with ham from the corner shop and tomatoes from Grandad's greenhouse. Those were the days...... :D

An Oggie was a work boot according to the Notts lads I went to college with. And pit oggies had the toe cap on the outside!

Tony.

Never heard my dad or anyone talking about oggies. He always took sandwiches which were eaten along with coal dust from their hands. Yuk.
I thought Oggies were cornish in origin - they had meat and potato in one end and the pudding in the other. They were baked hard so they could be thrown down the pit shaft without breaking.

25 Parsonage Green at the bottom of the football pitch by the hill.
Know it, did you go to school there?
I was a Highbury Secondary Modern and so was Gary Liddell who is a member on here but can't remember his forum name as he is not on here often but I did meet him last year on the New Forest run.
My under age drinking haunt was the Old Mill......:D

Ok.. So when is a roll not a roll ? ... When it's a bap, barm or what ever north of the Watford Gap... Also.. What's an Oggie then ? A test for you all...
In Coventry a roll is called a batch. Call them any different and who knows what you might get ;-)

Went to the infants school (5 years behind you). Love the Mill though the old tree that we used to jump off outside the Mill into the river was cut down a few years ago
