I can understand how you feel mate.
Work this morning and then 3 hrs in my sauna of a garage this afternoon. I'm completely shagged too.Tony.

Yeah, I was expecting it to be worse than that but it was getting annoying letting slower cars get away at traffic lights.
Okey dokey, some numpty forgot to record the mileage when he carried out the oil change and engine flush so he could monitor oil consumption 
However it has now been 5 weeks with I would guess about up to a thousand miles covered. Just checked the oil level and it's showing about 2/3's full on the dipstick which is a great improvement.
I'll keep a better eye on it in the new few weeks as I'll be doing a few more miles than usual, but hoping this is a good sign!

This update relates to suspension changes. I got suckered in by people talking about coil overs, and had a couple of people give good reviews of JOM Bluelines. Bought a set, and found they ruined the ride. What I've learnt is that cheap coil overs are cheap!
Finally got chance to spend some quality Rosie time in the garage, and now she is rolling back on standard OE Sport suspension. Life is good again. An interesting fact about OE Sport suspension is that the fronts springs are incredibly difficult to change, and we had to resort to a trip to a local well known tyre centre to get them done. Even the guy who did them was shocked at how much they needed to be compressed! Without a proper spring compressor like this bad boy we couldn't have done them in the zed shed.
Lee has also been upset with the state of my calipers, and he finally got chance to paint the front ones today. Rears will be done another day, as I was keen to get out for a test drive. Yes, I know my wheels are dirty!
This is a first coat of Hammerite, and will try and build up the layers before applying a final coat of whatever colour I finally decide on!

That's not actually the issue here Brian, but thanks for the suggestion. We have managed to change the springs on other front shocks before without issue. In this instance it's that you can't compress the Sport springs enough even with the piston fully out using basic spring compressors.
We can get enough of the thread to show through with Lee's entire body weight on top of the assembly, but then he is in the way and we can't fit the nut on top.

Mercedes springs are some of the worst ones to fit because they are so short that when you have them clamped enough to insert the shocker, when you fit the top nut and release the clamp there isn't enough space between the coils to get the clamp legs out.

I didn't have any issues with my M suspension and I would have thought they were similar. I did use two sets of compressors however so that was 3-4 clamps but I can't remember struggling too much. Anyway glad you have got it done. Think I will go Bilstein B8 route when I do mine already got the rear shocks just need fronts and springs.
Actually not that similar, the metal used on the M springs is thinner and a different circumference. We could get however better compression on them - as per my other thread where we tried before resorting to the Sport springs.
I had the same issues changing to the apex springs i could compress the standard springs fine but it was to the end of my spring compressers to get the apex small enough to get the nut back on.

When I changed mine I took the B8's and springs to the friendly lads at National who assembled them in 15 minutes for a drink, then all I had to do was put them on the car, which took all of 30 minutes for both sides.
