Just a couple of new additions recently

New carbon fibre stubby aerial. £2.27 from China and its improved my radio reception

And some shotgun cartridges as covers for my wheel bolts

Also I have recently changed my ABS / ASC unit as the old one was faulty and bled the whole brake system which cleared my error codes and took the car for an MOT. Unfortunately, it failed as the front brakes were imbalanced

We couldn't find anything wrong and wondered why they were suddenly imbalanced and came to the conclusion it could have been air still in the system after changing the ABS unit and bleeding the brakes. So we changed over the 2 front brake hoses (as these were an advisory) and bled the system again and I took it back in for a retest and it passed second time round :)

My next thing is some new angel eyes as my last ones broke and the idea I had of using some El wire in the old rings didn't really work as they were not that bright in daylight. I have some more on order which need to be modified which I hope will work but I like a challenge.

And a quick pic from Santa Pod

After my old angel eyes gave up after a few years use I had a couple of different options that I tried in getting a set I liked. I ended up finding a set of LED SMD angel eyes made for the E36. Of course at least one of the rings are too big to go in the headlights of the zed, but after splitting the lights I found out they were both to big

The new ones were measured against my old ones and after a bit of time with the hacksaw I got them to fit perfectly just like my old ones. Being the LED SMD type they have lots of little LED's instead of the CCFL tube types and should last a lot longer. Also a pretty cool feature with these ones is that they come with a remote which allow them to change colour (16 different types), adjust brightness, strobe, flash and dim (although I have them set on white all the time as the coloured ones look a bit chavy!).

Here's a few pics

Full brightness

Low brightness (how I have them all the time)

Some different colours

Some of the flash and strobe functions

Also picked up 4 winter tyres for a decent price on eBay after 450 miles use put onto my winter wheels, which have made a massive improvement in the lower temps although I have yet to use them in the snow but I am expecting them to be a lot better than standard tyres.

A quick pic of what the car was like last time it was clean which was back in November

And finally for Christmas Santa bought me a coilover kit and some new top mounts for the front a rear which will be fitted soon :D

Hi ya I was reading your progress and I saw this pic and got excited do you have PINK dials? I would love this on mine how did you do this please? :joyful:
Haha, no unfortunately they are not pink :p that would be a little too girly for me! It must just be the lighting of the photo

The only thing I could think of is changing all the bulbs in the cluster to pink LED's if they are available but I think the dials themselves glow orange so they wouldn't be completely pink.

OMG i sooo want those lights :nailbiting: where? much? how easy to fit? and you can just cut them?? thank you :)
dave
I had them off a chinese seller from eBay and they cost about £17.50. They are not the easiest to fit as you need to split the headlights and route the wires out of them etc but as I have done this so many times I knew what I was doing but it still took several hours. They are easy to cut but you have to be careful and cut away the LED's in groups of 3 so the circuit isn't broken. Then they need to be connected to the car so the illuminate. I have mine connected to a wire in the fuse box that is live with the ignition circuit so they come on with the ignition like DRLs.

could you wire them direct to the parkers? i assume they are on a parallel circuit, thus why you can cut them.... when you cut do you have to make the ends or they are ok? or have to close the connection to waterproof? i am familiar with splitting the lights but have never done it :)
would you have a purchase link also please, and thank you ;-) so want to do this with the car, they look awesome :)

Yes you can wire them directly to them and they will come on with the sidelights then. The easiest way is to cut the wires and connect them with bullet connectors and cover them with electrical tape. Unless you have some experience in doing this type of install I wouldn't recommend it, as it involves cutting the angel eyes and using a dremmel on parts of the headlight to route the wires correctly.

If you feel confident in giving it a go then these are the ones you need ;)

Your a bad influence @g8jka

I have now bought some. How many LED's did you need to trim off? I like the way these fit.

Also are fitted onto the insdie of the lense?

And what was your chosen bonding method?

Lee

I'm pretty sure it was 3 off the ones that fit on the outers and 9 on the inners which are more of a half horseshoe shape.

They are fitted on the front of the inner lenses as this was the easiest way to mount them as they can be stuck on with double sided sticky pads.

Only thing is they have been playing up a bit the past week, they flash like mad when I turned the ignition on then slowly fade off. I have them disconnected at the moment as I haven't had chance to have a look at them, I just hope they are not on the way out.
