We are between 4 & 6 meters below see level and up there they are only slightly higher, they have sea to the north and border Germany to the east and yes, it is very open and they are saying tonight, with the wind, it is -10c. The only part of the Netherlands that has 'hills' is the south, on the border with Belgium, and a quick plug, that is where the Dutch cruise is this year, temp down there today was 7c.
Ok last question, are you in an area known for its volcanic activity?

You shouldn't be doing that Bryan, the god that is Mike Fishwick will tell you you're only filling you cat with water and you will rot your exhaust out from the inside.

Tony.

ps. That's what I would do too.;) But I know F--- all,.............................. apparently.
I wondered why the cats were bloated, I thought it was all the food they eat and lack of exercise. =))

No, no volcanoes, only earthquakes, but that is also only up there, where it is -10c at the moment, as that is where they have been drilling for oil & gas for the last 50 years (and fracking).....

Put trickle charger on my TR4 which was soon up to fully charged with all the right lights coming on. then transfered it to the Z. Today went to see how it was doing and only light on was power. Disconnected trickle charger and went to start but battery now completely flat. Put TC back on TR4 lights on, so put a battery charger on which also said power on. Put that on the TR4 and all lights on.
This battery was new last August, or so dealer said, any ideas ? could a faulty battery be the cause of my problem.
Will call out the AA Home Start which I have found very good in my area and they should be able to tell whats up, but their batteries are to dear if I need to replace it will dalk to dealer first as most batteries have a one year warranty

Geoff, check the Warrenty mate as some battery's have a free replacement if they go belly up under a certain time. Could save you a shed load of money as they are not cheap.

Hi One & All
AA have been and found a drain which did turn out to be the boot light that was not going off. I thought (and we all know what thought thought) when I touched the clear plastic light cover it was not warm, how wrong I was.
Battery is now charging but AA said that it was not holding the right amount of charge after having the engine going for a while , but when I put my charger on it started to go up so will leave it on over night and see what happens ie will it charge up and if so will it hold its charge. Car tested for any other drains and nothing so that's good.
In future I must look farther than the end of my nose, which is what my wife says when I cant find something.
Good batteries are not cheap but if I have to but one I will remember what has been suggested.
Where is the boot switch located as there are two push buttons on bottom edge of tail gate, do they just fail or is there anything that can be done with them ?

Put a mobile phone on video record into the boot and close the lid. Leave for 10 - - 15 seconds, open boot , retrieve phone and play back video recording. That way you'll know if it's switching the light off.

Glad I found this thread, I had trouble starting my Zed yesterday after working on it.
Turned over once then nothing.
Its an old battery which when i put my trickle charger on it the charger wouldn't do anything just sat on standby, put a old style battery charger on over night and she started up first time.
i have now placed the trickle charger back on and that is working as it should be.
I will have to check the boot lid light, I have been disconnecting the battery after working on the car each day apart from the last 2 days.
And that's when I had a problem.

The two push buttons are not switches . The switch is inside the lock assembly and the pin in the lower body makes and breaks the contact - see photo. If you push a screw driver or similar metal in the hole you should be able to see if switch is working. If this is ok it may be the pin height needs adjusting.

Hi Tony
I dont have such a phone, AA man did put screw driver in lock mechanism, but light stayed on, took bulb out and it was very hot. Will add this to my list of jobs to do but will wait and see how the battery charges up or not.

How often do you go in the boot in the dark? Once there is a reasonable amount in the boot the light is pretty useless anyway.

Just take the bulb out and leave it out or possibly try one of the led bulbs as they take very low power, but even this will drain the battery over a few days.

The bulb in my boot was blown when I got it. I have a small head torch I keep in the boot, that aside, as you say @Brian4 don't really need the boot light.

It would take an LED weeks at least to flatten a battery, if that was all was draining it.
