A screen that is reduced in size so there is about 3 inches less at the bottom (its 3 in narrower"). This makes it look more "period" and less BMW.

This looks like an interesting thread, what sort of seat arrangement are you going for.... original bm seats re-done or a totally different set up all together ???? I ask as I wonder if you have an upholsterer lined up... looking for someone to do some work on some seats I have for another project.....

C-man....yes, it is now with Beemaman for paint...already biting my nails in the empty garage.

Sata, thanks....I am currently trying to source new seats, I want a period look but to maintain electrical adjustment, I don't have a trimmer because one alternative is to modify the current seats

I know its taking a long time, but rather that with a good job than rush it. Beemaman is doing a top job and its nearly ready for paint.

Could you chop the top off the standard Z3 seats to make them look like an old seat and then get them trimmed in a period style?

While I am waiting I have started to put the grill together, It comes as a laser cut aluminium kit which is painted black and then the from face is polished off.

@5harp3y....could do but I will probably buy new seats, I have new door cards which I am going to equip with period door furniture, including what looks like a window winder, but it will actually work the electric windows.

Also got my lowering springs today, lowers it by 30mm all round. This compensates for the lower weight of the body.

Since I was last on I also got the wire wheels...5j front, 7j rear...they are dead blingy.

Looking good I'm interested to see the end result. Are you removing the soft top then and having new door glass made of a different shape? Can't rush a good job ;)

Can't wait to see it painted and also those wire wheels! They will make the car in my mind. JIM
By the way Jim, I had to change my original paint colour. The paint suppliers could not reproduce a flat Rosso Rubino, so had to go a shade darker red to Rosso Bordeux....that is flat.....so it should end up dark red, with a beige (or tan) interior and a beige (or tan) hood.

Should set the wires off nicely.

Car now in primer, because of the darker flat red colour I have asked for the primer had to go a darker grey....to save top-coat. Should be in colour next week.
