OK so the car passed it's MOT with no advisories and is road legal. We have now done 170 miles of reliability testing and the car has not missed a beat.
Still working on it, fitted the rear stainless bumper, looks great. Front one to do. Other minor bits of trim fitted. Bonnet fit adjusted. Boot handle re-fitted after it fell off. Did a mileage check....getting 29 to the gallon at the moment.
Radio not working properly so I will have to sort that tomorrow. Polished door sill kick plates have arrived. Steering wheel centralised.
All looking good for some top down motoring....just need the weather to stay kind

Seeing a Z3 conversation at the weekend prompted me to read this amazing thread from start to finish. I’m totally in awe of your achievement - just wonderful!

This is my personal favourite body kit for the Z3. It also seems to have the right spacing over the wheels which some of the other kits like the Bertini seem to bulge a bit too much or have too much gaps
I like the Kobra kit too but I wish it was a bit lower on the arches, and had the ability to add side pipes,

Agree with you all. One of the best rebody kits for the Z3 and now very rare due to Fezza’s actions against the manufacturer. Colour and interior make all the difference also.
You can fit side pipes to the Kobra kit with a bit of work. Here is one I have seen in the flesh and the quality is superb. Cost a few notes mind....
The Kobra needs either lowering quite a bit or filling with bigger diameter wheels such as this one.
Anyway I will stop thread hijacking

Well the car is now finished. Here are some pictures finally taken outside in the sunshine.
Finally, after two and a half years I can just enjoy driving it.....and polishing it, of course.
