Piran. Your rear lights are they Volvo P1800?
What's the best place to get them. OEM? Or Bay? Or?

This is pretty much what I've got. Just looking at the regulations and in europe https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=uriserv:OJ.L_.2019.014.01.0042.01.ENG ) you must have both a reversing lamp and a fog light. There's no position requirements for the reversing light (other than a minimum height of 250mm) but the fog light must either be in the centre or towards the centre of the road (i.e. different between the UK and most of Europe).I'm still weeks, maybe months away from actually doing anything but my head is already planning.
I'm going to get identical reversing and fog lights under the bumper - ie same body with different coloured lenses.

Depending on what side of the channel I find myself there'll be a switch in the boot to change the action and just swap the lenses. Simples.
It needs to be at least 100mm from the stop lights but doesn't say anything about other lightsThere's a rule that says that the fog light can not be less than a certain distance from any other light. I don't know how that applies if the fog is in the same cluster as the stop/tail lights - or maybe the clusters are designed to comply with that rule. 40mm if my memory serves. But I'm likely wrong.
But having the fog in exactly the same place as a different light might not be allowed. Also only a white light (ie one that just looks white) to the rear might get PC Jobsworthy to stop you thinking that you don't have a fog light.
Very good point, I'll drag myself back out of the rabbit hole !I think you’re possibly all overthinking this as many uk cars only have one fog light fitted from the factory, so when visiting Europe it’s in the wrong side.
If you exported the car permanently then you’d have to make the alteration. But not for holidays.
Whilst true, it's not very safe to be driving in thick fog and having the guy behind thinking you are at the side of the road, but you are actually on the main highway.I think you’re possibly all overthinking this as many uk cars only have one fog light fitted from the factory, so when visiting Europe it’s in the wrong side.
