The splitting tends to affect us more in the colder parts of the world. We have to make sure the car has warmed up before putting the hood down, otherwise they split.
The clouding is really easy to sort out though. I used Autoglym SRP on mine which helps a lot, but there are plenty of other treatments you can use to de-cloud them. Here is a pic of my old cars screen mid polish, where you can really see the difference. It wont get rid of the fold line in the middle, but you can at least see through it!
