Z3 on headrest

Will be getting round to painting the leather seats in the next couple of weeks, and from nowhere thoughts of having Z3 highlighted in the centre of the headrest in the contrasting colour.
Has this been done before and has anyone got any pictures?
The seats are going to be black with blue inserts as they are not the sports seats the headrest i was leaving black so thought the Z3 could be in the same colour as the inserts!
Any thoughts Zedders or am i barking mad?
 
I think that's a bang on idea Paul. Certainly different that's for sure. If you've not already done it I'm sure one of our IT Guru's would be able to do a photo shop of what it may look like.

An embossed effect would look well on the black - subtle but effective.
 
There's a man down in Devon who sells decals just for this on eBay

cheekychappie is his seller I'd. I've had quite a lot of things from him over the years and I did ask about these as I was fairly sceptical to be honest but assured me of their quality and durability.

I think it would look great a nice touch a good reverse templete used to mask then dye it in would be different for sure. :drinks:
 
Hi Paul, yes had my seats recovered about 3 years ago, still really pleased with the work & colour, althought they were perfect i didnt like the black seats and they got very hot in the sun.the z on the headreast i think just sets them off.I do have to be careful when wearing new jeans that the colour doesnt run as they are so light.
 
I considered this route when I was doing mine and found the decals on ebay, I didn't think it would look right with a decal, IMO it really needs to be embossed to look right,
 
Love the white seats but not practical for me.
Seats will be staying mainly black with the blue insert. Planning on making a template for the Z3 motif out of Vinyl and spraying directly on to the seat. Worse case scenario if i don't like it can spray over.

I felt the same Steve and I asked a seller of these decals and was assured of their durability.
