The trouble is as a repaired Cat D it was never going to be worth more than about £3.5k to £4k.
As it's Estoril Blue the chances of getting panels in the right colour are not good (now you know why I asked you). So it would need £1,000 or more of paint on top of say £350 for the panels. Headlights, tail lights. And of course recovery. Which to Swindon from Cornwall would have been £250 and probably more like £400 if you lived much further away.
So I had the full bill running out at £3.6k paying £1,850 tops for the car itself. And I was letting my heart rule my head at that much. But I have to say, a 3.0 Sport in Estoril Blue would have been very, very nice.
