Project didn't get off the ground. Was after this (like big-time). A de-panelled Cat-D 3.0.

Was going to drive it around with all my spare panels while it waited for full restoration. It would have been Estoril Blue, Boston Green, Topaz Blue and Titan Silver!

Well done if someone on the forum got it. I'm jealous! I couldn't quite justify that sort of money that won it

The trouble is as a repaired Cat D it was never going to be worth more than about £3.5k to £4k.

As it's Estoril Blue the chances of getting panels in the right colour are not good (now you know why I asked you). So it would need £1,000 or more of paint on top of say £350 for the panels. Headlights, tail lights. And of course recovery. Which to Swindon from Cornwall would have been £250 and probably more like £400 if you lived much further away.

So I had the full bill running out at £3.6k paying £1,850 tops for the car itself. And I was letting my heart rule my head at that much. But I have to say, a 3.0 Sport in Estoril Blue would have been very, very nice.

Was a little bit sad to see the Estoril Blue 3.0 appears to be going the way of a kit car given the parts being sold from it by the new owner.

It had very light damage and would have been an absolute piece of the proverbial to restore when it was first damaged and was still very restore-able when recently sold.

That said the panels being sold from it are a little rusty suggesting it needed even more money thrown at it than I anticipated from the photos. It needed the few remaining panels replacing and a full respray. I'm kinda glad I didn't win it now. That could have been running out at £5k to complete to a nice standard (with a £2k respray) which is too much for a Cat D.
