Is this overpriced ? I have spent a lot of money on it since owning it with all bills receipts and of course it has a factory hardtop.
price reduction to £4,995.00 or open to sensible offers.

To help you along, the hardtop with fitting is worth circa £1K, perhaps a little more to someone who has the same colour car.
Looks like a sound early M44 car from the pictures, does it have aircon, which would be on my "essential" list, but not everybody's? The aftermarket boot rack may not be to all tastes.
Think decent cars with your sort of mileage sell for £2 - 4K without hard top. So you seem to me there, or thereabouts, with the price.
You are of course in competition with later/bigger engined cars at the price you indicate.
Hope these thoughts help. GLWTS

Hi,
thanks for your useful comments. No it does not have air con.
i thought the boot rack was a BMW option. It is extremely easy to remove (sometimes i have it on and sometimes not). I will add a picture without the boot rack which we have found extremely useful.

I apologise if my comment about the boot rack is wrong. As you say, a boot rack was a BMW option, perhaps the picture made it look aftermarket to me.

No problem. This is a very genuine car which as far as I know only has OE bits on. Needs absolutely nothing and will give years of reliable fun. I will not drop it any lower, it can stay in the garage if no one is looking for a fun car which is relatively modern technology free.

Do you have the registration number ? i know you have done a lot of work but would give me a good idea what the overall mechanical condition is,

also not a fan of the mud flaps, will they come off with out causing damage to the paint ?

cheets

I feel that's a lot of car for the money specially all the work you've carried out and it includes a hardtop. We've noticed a huge change in the market this year with the zeds, I struggled to sell a 1 owner BMW history 2.8 last month and had to let it go for sub 3k.

If your not in a hurry I would add more photos and list it in various places and wait for the right buyer. They will show.

Agree. Not sure what has happened to the Z3, other cars are still selling. I was going to sell mine, checked with the auction specialists at car and classic and when they saw the condition and the mileage, they were keen to have a crack at selling it for me until they said I ‘might’ get £8.5k for it.

Not going to give it away, they said cars of the mileage and quality of mine are extremely rare, there are collectors out there, but they are looking for those keen to sell and offering low ££.

So, it will sit in the garage and I will use it occasionally when I want to. I sorn it over the winter. If somebody is willing to pay what it’s worth, then great, if not, no bother…

they also said the ZM’s are beginning to soften in value as well🤷🏻‍♂️

Sorry, but high mileage cars simply don't attract high prices. Personally I would sell the hard top on it's own . A lot of potential customers may be put off at paying a relatively high price when they don't want the top. May not have storage space etc and if it's a fun summer car? On the other hand there will be Z3 owners looking for a hard top willing to pay for it.Good luck with the sale, certainly looks a great car.

Collectors aren't going to be buying cars with six figure mileages when there are so many to choose from. Harsh I know, cos' it looks a lovely car, but a 1.9 with this mileage is £5k at best and realistically £4k.
It's just the market. I would keep it and use it as long as you have the room.

Loads more pics. There are 2 sets of mats. I have now changed the head unit (pixels gone in OE) but it could be repaired. The CD stacker is still in boot.
It's not a case of having the room as I am going down another life changing route so selling many toys. Only thing it needs will be 2 rear tyres (advisory on MOT 1000 miles ago) though loads of life left in them yet. Also seat bushes need replacing which my guy locally charges £120.00 for.
So, I am reducing it to £4,495.00 before i put it on Autotrader, though it will be a shame for it not to go to enthusiast. It runs superbly with no rattles or squeaks. A pleasure to drive especially at the moment !

Mine's a 1.9 16v 140hp just over 80k miles. Even if I did all the jobs that need doing and even with the hardtop I wouldn't value mine at anything over 3k

Enthusiasts are the big spenders and they're not buying 1.9's

On the other hand, as I said on a different thread, you only need one buyer so stick to your price. At least for a while. But don't spend too much time waiting for a buyer here on zroadster. Get it advertised elsewhere where 'normal' ie not Zed enthusiast buyers are more likely to love the look.
