Looking that way Jesper. Do you have any service history with the car?

All service history seems to have disappeared during the move.

I'm therefore thinking of replacing oil, coolant, brake fluid and plugs just to be on the safe side.

But I want to learn more about that oil message. Let's say I make an oil change, will I need to reset something? Will the oil message have all "dots" then?

Tell me more please :)

Yes you will need to re set the service reminder. Cheap enpugh to buy a re set tool on EBay.

But when should you, according to the message, change the oil? When it's on the red?

I was recommended on this forum to just use a "bit of wire" and it works and cheaper.

Sorry but not find it to reference

If you rely on the service indicator, it will tell you to change the oil about every 16,000 miles but I prefer to do it annually. especially if you do low mileage.

I successfully reset the oil light by shorting pin 7 to earth for 10 seconds as shown on Youtube. Did take two goes though.

The little clock symbol that`s showing means the brake fluid needs changing. This is a time sensitive warning and comes on every 2 years regardless of mileage.

I'd change the oil, oil filter, coolant, spark plugs, air filter and then the brake fluid. Ebay service kit for all the filters and sparks, then oil of your choice that best fits the car. I've done this all recently, fairly easy to do with patience and a helping hand.

If you're doing this yourself do it now, winter isn't a fun time to work on a car (unless you have a heated garage).
There are plenty of guides here but if not PelicanParts is the best place to look for how to's or for a more visual guide Youtube is helpful.

If you do it yourself you'll need the reset tool, (or do the wire trick) to reset the indicator. The dots will fill up back up and go back down with use and time etc.

Agree with above, but do/get the work done before you reset the lights.

I'll change the oil and filter if it's going to be used this summer. Then the rest during the winter.
