Having now used the car for a week, I can honestly say this has to be one of the best mods for the money. It has certainly transformed my coupe, another step to getting the car how it should be. I would say this is a must for anyone with an M52 tu engine.

Hi @Lee hope to catch up with you guys soon.

Today I got round to changing the cam sensor intake (a), very straight forward job. I had an engine code come up for this and had been on my to-do list, really should have changed it when I did the manifold but was not sure how hard that job was.

Along with all the other lack of maintenance crimes against this coupe as mentioned in this thread, the sensor had just sat there, probably the original fitment and well past its best. There was always a flat spot, even the manifold change and the renewal of the vac pipes had not got rid of it, I figured when the ECU worked out the new air flow this would sort itself out.

Then midweek on my way to work, went to start the car and the rev counter was bouncing all over the show, car not starting. Had this before so ordered a sensor, what a difference with the new sensor flat spot gone, the exhaust is now raspier and crisper and the car is even smoother.

Seems like the hard work sorting this coupe is paying off, so the next stage is the manual gearbox conversion and just ordered some H&R anti roll bars.

Bit of a hot one today, possibly too hot to work on a Z, should have been driving but heyho. So popped round to @spurs fan in a coupe to remove a gearbox and all associated parts for my manual swap.

The victim was this 2.8 sporting a rather obvious nod to its smaller counterpart, Andy had done a fair bit of stripping of the car so that saved some time. First out was the pedal box followed by the exhaust, (diff sorry prop)and finally the box, just over 4 hours so happy with that.

So with everything out took a rather delayed drive home, M25 say no more then near Epping spotted I believe the Mints in their 3.0

Made a start on the gearbox swap today, the job I was most concerned about was the pedal box. True to form 15mins to remove in a stripped out car nearly 5 hours to swap in mine.

It also looks like the dead rest is bigger for an auto than a manual, so will have to cut that down, no biggie it was broken anyway. Will make one from Ali to match the foot rest bling.

Hi pretty much, just ordered the LHD clutch line from the pedal master to the slave, the new bearing and rear seal and the running shaft the clutch bearing sits on.

Is it worth getting the prop balanced, going to renew the vibration rubber anyway

I have everything else including lightened flywheel, M3 clutch braided hose and bearing, will order a new slave cylinder and get a short shift and stormwerks while Im about it, so everything is as good as it can be.

Hope to have everything in the next week,

Andy

Can’t wait to see this all come together make sure you take plenty of juicy pictures.

You shouldn’t need to rebalance anything unless your splitting the prop shaft, they have been weighted and balanced already. Changing the prop bearing will be fine.

So after a complete debacle with the H&R ARB,s, I looked on OEM and found I have the sport suspension. Basically the front is 26mm and the rear 17mm, compared to the H&R,s at 28mm f and 19mm r.

Came to the conclusion that it was not worth swapping or waiting for some even poorer excuse from the company I ordered them from, why they still don't have them after 22 days. So was refunded and got some Purple power flex. Just done the front rain stopped play but after a quick drive, what a difference to the front end can't wait to do the rear now.

@windym remember you have a load of bits still sat in my garage mate. Not sure what powerflex parts they’re for. Buried under my Porsche bits.
