Cheers Tony good tip sure won't be making any other gaffs like that. That fuse tester a handy gadget http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/400mm-automotive-current-tester-max-n48cy but could have saved the money if I were more proficient with the multimeter but could not find any YouTube vids demonstrating how to do that so rather than taking a risk with my basic multimeter I spent a few quid on that gadget.
