My list goes through a bit of this and a bit of that:

1. New softop, OEM, green
2. Styling 32 wheels refurbishment (would love to paint the center section gold and polish the outer lip, but I'm a pussy so I'll keep them stock)
3. driver seat and wheel refurbishment (will try myself, I foresee troubles with matching the mexico green insert)
4. VANOS revision
5. Install chrome trims on the exhaust I got from @Low Rider once they arrive
6. General service and engine light sorting out.

I'm surprised you haven't received the Chrome Trims as these were posted on 29.9.2016 13.13 hours.

I also expected them earlier, but I am in no rush, the car is currently undergoing major surgery (softop) so I'll be patiently waiting them, no worries mate. ;)

Update: just for the sake of it, they have arrived safe and sound.

its a reed switch, it operates via a magnet. one half of the reed is ferrous the other is not, the magnet pulls or pushes the one half into the other. i embedded the reed switch on the end of the led strip with that heat shrink tube stuff, then the magnet is simply glued to the stop at the back of the glovebox (you need to pass the wiring through at this part of the glovebox, the reed needs to go close to where the door stop is located (which now has a small button magnet there), i will send a button magnet too. it doesnt really matter on the positioning as long as the magnet gets close enough with the door open.
Thats great, thanks for the explanation. We generally go quiet at work from the end of November through Xmas so I will have plenty of time on my hands to kill.

I may well be painting my wheels again, this time in the colour that I originally wanted but bottled out, as you say, gold with polished rim,

Just gone in for rusty areas to be treated and a chip in the bonnet fixed but been told I need two wings and sills - I see from above that the sills are £126 a piece from Tony, anybody know the price of the wings and whether anyone does pattern parts - getting close to £1k for all this including the painting so far?

That price is pretty good value for money for what you are doing! Good luck.

My body shop guys unit is next door to a top class fibreglass fabricator - I'll put a new post up looking at the feasibility of getting fibreglass skirts/outer sills made.
