Ok guys, what are you planning over winter.

Heres mine

Interior,
recolour dash, hockey sticks and various other parts in topaz blue, refurbish steering wheel,
Hydro dip centre console and door trims in black ash effect, motorwerks gear knob, hand brake cover and cig lighter, blue floor mats, footwell lights, fit sub and amp, Chrome gear gaitor trim from @Southernboy
White dials.

Brakes
Drilled and grooved discs all round, new hand brake cables, possible series 5 upgrade on front calipers, repaint all calipers Blue,

Engine and transmission
Full service, new VANOS seals, induction kit, custom quad exhaust,

Thats it, I think,

That would be very good of you mate, have you used them for foot well lights. If I put the lights in it means that I have to get some alloy pedal covers as well :D

yes, I have them in mine, you just cut to size then solder the wires onto the strips, I may even have a set already soldered. I can even supply a wiring instruction.

That would be fab mate, I need all the help I can get when it comes to car electrics, do they come on with the courtesy light.

yes they do. or like mine - when you open the door, that way I can still use the other light if I need to, though I don't think I have switched it on for about 3 years now, I even have a small strip in the glove box operated from a reed switch in the box.

Other than my MOT when I'm back for Xmas and a service, not a lot. However, I'm saving like mad but not sure what for yet.

How did you do the switch bit
its a reed switch, it operates via a magnet. one half of the reed is ferrous the other is not, the magnet pulls or pushes the one half into the other. i embedded the reed switch on the end of the led strip with that heat shrink tube stuff, then the magnet is simply glued to the stop at the back of the glovebox (you need to pass the wiring through at this part of the glovebox, the reed needs to go close to where the door stop is located (which now has a small button magnet there), i will send a button magnet too. it doesnt really matter on the positioning as long as the magnet gets close enough with the door open.
