After a few weeks parked up decided to give the Z a run out. Just a short 50 mile round trip with a garden centre excursion included (Well can't be the perfect day)

Covers been off for a couple of days as dry weather forecast so a quick wipe of the windows required.

Into the car, first turn of the key started a treat. Took it steady for a couple of miles letting the engine warm up, easing each gear into place as the gearbox doesn't like the cold gradually feeling gears slotting in easier as the car warmed.

The car ran faultlessly, engine and gearbox working as smoothly as ever, suspention and steering precisely going about their business arriving back home with the usual Z grin, the only failure being me being nesh keeping the roof up on this crisp but dry winters day.

My Z celebrates its 19th Birthday in a few weeks time, How many other cars can offer such smiles per miles with built in reliability at that age?

Roll on Spring / Summer

Not many I would wager. Did the same as you, nice and easy 'till she was nice and warm. Oh, get that roof down ;)

reliability is what counts with smiles knowing you own a Z3

Very nice my written Paul. I've owned countless cars over the years and nothing has kept me smiling everytime I drive it. Love the Zed and the friends I've made from the zed community. As you have already said, can't wait for the spring! :)

I couldn't agree more with all of you. Mine is 16 years old and I have owned it for 8. 110,000 miles on the clock of which I have done nearly 90,000 trouble free. Still makes me smile every time I drive her. :):):)

Well explained Paul, I had a short top down in mine yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, dare I say it was even invigorating to hear that straight six hitting the red line

Glad the weather is nice enough to get out and about Paul even if the roof stayed up! May sweep the snow off mine today and go for a short jaunt. JIM

Out of the garage every morning and off to work, mine doesn't go above 50 till after Fenton, about a mile from home, and definitely no big licks till the temp. gauge has risen to normal. Been to Saxilby for my Chinese tonight, heated seats on hot air in the cabin, pure luxury. Only 13 years old but ageing well.

Wish you many miles/ years together!
Mine's got 20th this June. TLC makes wonders and peace of mind.
Now ,the Zed is under the cover, in the garage and we are making plans for the next year trip.

Every time I start mine now the temps are dropping is a bonus! Don't know how many more days till it gets cold enough it won't start but I'll take it to the limit if I can. Waiting for the front bolts ( thanks Low Rider) to arrive then the HT goes on, hopefully without cracking my new rear window! JIM

Winter is rough time: can't use the Zed, can't use any of the motorbikes, too cold to work in the garage...I should look for a job in SouthAfrica for winter time!
Or dream...
