Just having a look at Z3,s on the web and came across this. I understand subjective but this somehow looks wrong, of course possible camera angle may well play a part also 20 inch rims I can't see it handling very well or is it just me?

And apologies if this has already been posted

That looks wrong is it a photoshop? 19's at a push on a zed but 18's as a happy medium for me

It may look better lowered but very big in my opinion but each to their own.

I don't like cars with overly big wheels, in my humble opinion it makes them look like a Stage Coach = bloody awfull. Max on a Z3 is 18" and on a Z4 for that matter too.

Mine is on 18's and I'm still not convinced. Keep thinking of dropping down to 17's. Jue doesn't want me to so sort of keep holding off. I love the wheels but it's a hard ride.

Look like the same style and size I have on TOO! @Grumpy. Don't know if it will ever see Canada but the 17" on Trinity seem to ride pretty good and that's with a budget tire! Why does Jue not want to change? JIM

She likes them, I like them but the offset isn't right so the fronts are a very just fit! I'd like something with a deep rim on the back.

It the frustrating compromise between what looks good and the ride. Have just put 17"s on @Gails with winter RFTs. The bone crunching ride has gone (although I have only driven it a few miles) it's a much nicer ride over our terrible roads. I think it might be 18"s next spring instead of the 19"s it came with.
20" must be like riding a roller skate.

Hi that's what I figured, I know we have a choice of form and function but these wheels really don't fit either. I guess the former owner was a bigger is better kind of guy.

Just what I did on our 4 when we went on our Euro trip this year. Made the world of difference.:)

So this leads me to lowering which is something I would like to do, having seen some gently lowered cars and some seriously slammed how much can you get away with. I want to drive this car everyday so I have to be realistic but the Z,d screams out to played with so looking on the net these are a few Z,s that stood out.

The first was more for the photography but loved the way it sat, the second looked a bit more usable but this could have been camera angle and the third was taking things to the extreme. The fourth I loved but how practical it is I have no idea another thing I realised was I had picked pre-facelift cars. When I was looking for Z,s I wanted the post-facelift as it looked curvier now Im really looking at Z,s I think I prefer the pre-facelift version especially the wide-body.

I dont regret buying mine and again I love driving it and the whole subjective thing comes into play but Im starting to think the pre-facelift is a better looking car so anyone else been here or is it just me.

They are all very low the ///M either has to be air ride as that surely is not usable ?
Pre-post facelift ? Its personal preference i suppose but has always been the pre 2.8 for my out of all and the lower they are the wider they appear.

I was thinking 20mm of lowering on my car and then 20mm rear 10mm front wheel spacing as I still want a useable car. Found this pic of a post-face lift 1.9 same as mine slightly different colour but pretty much what I want to do

My Z3 is on 17" wheels (staggered) is lowered 30mm (K&W suspension) and it had 20mm rear and 14mm spacers. It sits very nice, rides nice and looks very nice.

Wheel spacers will make a big differnce in filling the archs.
Most kits are 30mm lower you may get what you want custom made or from a coilover.
Mine is 30 below on Apex and i wouldn't want anymore but gave the look i wanted with out compromising the drive.

Sounds good it was the ride quality I did not want to compromise, did you replace the whole suspension or just the springs?

Great stance on this Zed, but no doubt tyres will rub on fender. Great alloys too!
