Car is about to come out and have a full freshen up, and the mohair roof need a good clean, having read a few reviews RENOVO seems to come out top for cleaning.
I would like to seal it afterwards too, and i need a bit of advice please on what to use/ avoid etc

thanks

Definitely clean it but I would avoid sealing it ..makes the flexible waterproof membrane in the material dry out and then leak..of course if you have an old roof then it’s probably the best thing to do.
BTW this comment on sealing usually starts an argument on here 😀

yeah iv see the to seal or not to seal threads, my roof is in good general condition, and like most things its aged, its not faded, it doesn't leak, and it folds without creasing, but how long will all that last? who knows, but i will do a conditioner clean, and see what replies i get about the seal

I used some Turtle Wax fabric cleaner and matching 'protector' on mine.
My roof was filthy; I don't think it had been cleaned in years.
The turtle wax stuff was OK, but difficult to rinse all the 'stuff' out of the fabric. if I did it again I would use soapy water, a soft brush and rinse it, then dry it as much as possible. Much cheaper and think it would do the same job.

BTW I also re-dyed mine with Renovo black dye after. I thought it was terrible stuff. I am convinced it is just watered-down emulsion paint at ten times the cost. Doesn't look a lot different than before and hard to get even coverage, as it's so thin. I won't be buying that again.
