Well they say bad things happen in 3's! No3 - the touchless carwash story!

:D You've hit the nail on the head! That's it exactly... Complete identity crisis!! :D

It has this bizzare black styling round the front like it's wrapped in a bow which also gives it a little 'demon' type face look. It's just bonkers! :) It's just much too busy. There's a lot to be said for elegant simplicity.

I've got a Toyota.....matchbox series, no engine required, just two fingers, push firmly on the roof and it goes a treat!

Toyota have got an identity crisis going on at the moment I don't think even they know what cars they produce. I think they are trying to be bold but it's not working for me either.

Don't forget the Aygo is also a Citroen C1 and a Peugeot 107 too. This devilish trio was spawned by the same laws whereby Mercedes brought out the awful Smart car that manufacturers were given some slack on producing big engine cars provided they also made these horrid little creatures.;)

Tony.

ps. Yes I know some of you love the Smart "car", but I bet you don't have to work on the bloody things.=))

Ahh but I do as I owned one and also worked on it myself. Could get the back bumper off in less than 5 minutes although the rear set of plugs were somewhat tricky to get to without the correct tool.

One of the few Ian. I salute you.:)

Tony.

ps. Did you ever have all the front bodywork off too?

No I didn't almost did though as I do remember almost getting my hand stuck trying to change the light bulbs. =))

I just remember the pic my uncle in California sent of a one foot long smart car sandwiched between two semi trucks. Not a pretty sight seeing it now as tall as it used to be long. JIM

Hi Katie
I hope you don't have to wait too long to get your Felix back. I am sure that there is somewhere in the small print that the insurance company has to provide a car of a similar type and size to your vehicle, ie. a Z4 Roadster!
Tip. Check Felix over thoroughly before you leave the body shop. Make sure you are happy with everything before you drive away.
MM

Thanks MM! I certainly will check it thoroughly right round!

Being given this horror of a hire car just reminds me why i put time and money into loving and looking after my little Felix! I enjoy every moment im driving in him, especially when the roof is down and the stars are out above my head on a cold, crisp night! I had to head out to the shops in the delightful little Aygo last night and it just wobbled like crazy in the wind! Quite a scary experience! Hehe :D
You're going to be be ploughing money into running any car and keeping it on the road. Id rather spend that on a car that I love and enjoy like Felix than a car like this Aygo which Id begrudge a hell of a lot more! ;) And on balance, Felix really hasnt cost me very much maintaence wise. Ive had him 4.5 years now and it's only recently one or two things have needed addressing and those have just been age/wear related really :) not bad going for a 15yr old car Id say!

@Little Lady Katie When you mean pop to the shops.. was that on two wheels around the corners and sideways into the car parking spot ? Haha..

Felix will be back soon and then you can come and show him/her off.

The aygo has it's place probably a good car in London but must not be let out on a Motorway. I had trouble with its sibling today a pug 107 trying to overtake a lorry on the dual carriage way. I was in my 535 taking it easy.

...yes! That's pretty much what it does ;) handling is terrible! I feel so far off the ground it's like a mini bouncy castle, and I don't feel like it hugs the corners when you go around bends like our beloved zeds... It wobbles around and threatens to turn over :whistle:

And of course it's doing nothing for my 'street cred' ;):D

Counting down the hours until (hopefully) I get felix back today!!

:D:D:D:DEven the postman laughed at me yesterday! He knocked to give me a parcel that wouldn't fit through the letter box (thank you so much @Brian H for the sensor, I think I owe you a pint or three for this!!) and as he handed it to me goes 'is that your new car?'

Well ive never spoken to the guy before! He never normally says more than a cheerful 'morning!' Or 'hello!'

So I tell him no, it's just a courtesy car. To which he replies 'good, I like your old one much better!'

I joked and asked him why he didn't like the aygo, and he stood at the back end of it and pointed at the boot going 'look at it..!!!!'

I think that said it all! :D

Hi Katie
Sometimes you need the bad stuff to fully appreciate the good stuff (Felix) but I guess you already know that.
Just watched my wife drive away in BBK (pet name for our Z3). What a good looker that car is and the wife of course. Soon be top off temperatures!
MM

@metalmickey You do realise that comment will come back to haunt you one day.. " He said what about the car.. Hmmmm right... " =))=))

Igotmycarbackigotmycarback.... And he's so SHINY!!! :D:D:D:D

The cat (Monty) wanted in on the pictures! :p Shiny new back bumper and shiny new sides and no more aygo makes for a very happy Katie! ;)

And so ends the story of the touchless car wash!

OT: I noticed the cut out under the rear number plate- do you have a tow bar mounting point behind there?
I saw a black Z for sale years ago that had a tow bar for a jet ski and wondering if it was this one, never seen another with a cut out in the rear bumper. Handy thing to have...

Very nice Z.
