Do you know what I would've done John? I would've taken loads of pictures and posted them on here at least. Hope the next one is better mate.T-tony I think he was literally ripping the p***. And yeah, I forgot to mention the wing mirror that was hanging on to the body by sheer will of duct tape and totally smashed. He just kept saying "I forgot about that" or "I didn't notice that" (didn't notice 10x5inch missing spot of paint for instance, swimming pool in the boot, massive dent and scratch on the boot etc.)
Got to just love a night out in Preston....so I'll be looking into spending a night in Preston.
That's not gone well mate, sorry to hear that. Don't let it put you off though, your Zed is out there without a doubt, you just haven't found it yet. Glad it wasn't me, we may have had a "chat"@mrscalex I was told: the car is 100% perfect, has small dent it the door with no paint damage and small slight tear in the roof.
Made sure I've heard right several times
There is a Dutch saying about this Grumps (Google translate is your friend...)It's one of those I'm afraid. He wasn't asking big money for the car.

goedkoop is duurkoop....
I don't think it's the best of start points for a restoration. I'm not saying it can't be done. But with that sort of mileage and being a 4-cylinder, even £1000 would probably only make it a £1,500 car (if you're lucky). It would need a good deal more than £1,000 to be worth anything more than that and in any case it probably has a ceiling of £2,000. The sums just don't add up unless it's concerning a car you have an emotional attachment to.What a shame. However, do keep in mind that theres always going to be work to do on these older cars.
Even if you add a grand to that budget you have in mind, the bodywork could well be perfect but there could be a load of mechanical issues that would end up being more expensive to sort than getting the paint done.
