It would need beefing up a bit before I'd consider using it. Looks a bit flimsy to me

On eBay £375 ish. It is only for lifting not supporting, you would need some stands under the car once lifted.

Tony.

ps. It's all about the balance, a guy at work took the rear axle off a P206cc on a 2 post lift and had to place a tall stand under the front end to prevent the rear of the car raising up off the lift pads.

I hope you refuse! lol
That would probably be shooting myself in the foot Ash, to be fair when we need to repair our own cars he never says no and when you consider we're getting paid to do it, we can't. One of the few perks left any more, but definitely appreciated.

Tony.

Ah I suppose there is give and take there then. You should just leave a Z3 brochure on the drivers seat each time lol

My friend who works on my car works for BMW and is allowed to use there facilities for private work. I'm not sure using the dealership service stamp is allowed though :)

@gookah has one of these and we recently used it to install my new coilovers. It is a very weighty piece of kit and definitely not flimsy at all. Once it was fully up the car can be tilted and secured horizontally using the retaining pins on the jack so that the car sits with all 4 wheels of the ground. Then axel stands can be placed under the car as normal so that it is fully secure. There is so much clearance under the car when it is raised fully and makes any job needing to be done underneath so much easier. Trouble is now I have seen what stuff needs doing underneath and can see it getting used a lot in the near future to do all sorts of jobs :)

@Lee yes when you lift it up one side of the car will tilt in the air as show above, but the one gookah has allows you to tilt the other end of the car and put in a locking pin (like you would on a axle stand) to hold the car pretty level so you can work all around it. Or you could have it tilted fully up on either side if just working under one end, which gives about 5 foot clearance I reckon. I'm sure he will be along soon to fully explain.

Looks very good and does give you plenty of height, always fancied one myself. How does it sit along the sills, is it long enough to enable the lift pads to sit on the jacking pads under the will or is it spreading the load between them.?
