Visit to Russell O

Thanks Tony,
I WAS feeling quite good about myself for that few seconds ...=))=))=))
Why not pop down instead when we have a date sorted. Not too far and a drive out to meet others is always good.

You can make the tea for your nice comments...
Tea?
=))

Well i got round to making my own light for checking condition of the swirls and scratches.
First thing was to strip out the working parts except the Trigger Switch

Then it was a case of wiring up an MR16 Bulb

Then i had to reassemble everything

A quick test to prove everything is working

Then a quick test to see what it was like on the Zed

Total cost to make £24
Once again a big thanks to Russel O as i would not of thought of doing this if it was not for seeing his

Could you do a write up on what is needed to make one of these and what items are needed by any chance?

What i used was.
12v Drill Driver from BnQ £20 Cheapest they had
MR16 50w Bulb
MR16 Bulb Holder. I could only locate these on line
Cut the cables to the Motor and remove.
Connect the MR16 Bulb Holder to the cut wires. I recommend soldering these but there is enough room to use connector blocks.
I had to cut a couple of bits of plastic to hold the Bulb in place. This can be a bit fiddly but it does secure the bulb.
Reassemble and thats it all done. Took me about 15 minutes

I will do a thread with the photos and Gary can add it to the Wiki if he wants to
