Visit to Russell O

How would he know..(Maserati man) Only joking mate as i said i only do it to keep me out of the pub and i'm generally happy with the results i get, i did spend the money though and had 2 days with Matt because i wanted to be a bit more than a weekend warrior and understand what was happening beneath me. Matts wheel bucket had me cringing and nearly running for the hills as did his bag of microfibres that didn't seem to have an order of usage to them lol But his results speak volumes and it probably saved me a fortune in buying stuff cause it smells nice (Guilty lol). You on DW? Do you post about your work? Be interested to follow if you do. Always Always happy to learn.

Yes mate Ultimate Finish. Car has to wait till weekend now as i have done a deal with Kim she can use it today and tomoz while i finish a few bits of DIY, so it will keep me in her good books for a few hours =))

I will probably be out of her good books the minute she walks through the door and sees the mess =))

I've got a das polisher but i could do with a training day on how to use it to its best & what pads to use. I dont think i get the best from it at the moment

After seeing how Russ works then i would say pads over 5" are too big unless for large areas. If you have lots of curves then either a 4" or 3" pad is required for best results. Also the backing plate is important as if it is rigid then you have less chance of it following the curves and more chance of damaging the paint. Quality pads are a must. Russ swears by M3 Pads and if he recommends them then that is what i would go for. My DA and Rotary came equipped with Pads they are now all in the bin. The Pads Russ told me to keep were the Menzerna ones that i had purchased separately.
If i am wrong Russ will be along to correct me.

When i was at Russ's i saw what he used as a light and was impressed, so much so i have decided to make one. I bought a cheap £20 12v battery drill and MR16 Bulbs 50w. I stripped the Drill down to just its shell and removed and binned all the working parts. Then i tried getting hold of the bulb holder and after spending around 2hrs visiting various places i have had to order these on line on good old Ebay, So untill i get this part and the light up and running my Detailing is on hold. Well till next week

Thanks Tony,
I WAS feeling quite good about myself for that few seconds ...=))=))=))
Why not pop down instead when we have a date sorted. Not too far and a drive out to meet others is always good.

You can make the tea for your nice comments...

Thanks Russ, we'll have to see what the date is, but it could be an idea. I make a mean cup of tea (in a can).

Tony.
