If you have a nice car in france, it'll get keyed. So having it dirty makes it less likely this will be done to your car. France hates 'success' and everyone is just rubbed down from the top to stay in their place and believe the 'proper' thing is to buy a Renault or similar, because money should be spent doing something more useful, like, pay taxes to keep the rubberstamper caste in power.

ps: I'm french, left 18 years ago, can you tell why? :)

Feels like that here most days. I get plenty of grief in the Z but never in the family bus - typical van drivers aggressively up your chuff, washing their windows when you behind them, not letting you out ever and my biggest hate - not moving over on a narrow lane. In the Galaxy I get a wide berth but in the Z it's as if they want me put rims against the roadside, I've learned to just igonere and be defensive when driving the Z about when over cars are around.
